Author, speaker and media contributor, Mariela Dabbah was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was the owner of a book distributor where she developed parent and teacher workshops. After she sold her assets, she focused on her writing career and has become a renowned personality through her work. She presents in corporations and universities across the country and is frequently seen on CNN, Univision, Telemundo and other networks. She is the founder of Latinos in College, a not-for-profit organization that helps Latinos find everything they need to graduate from college.

As Latinas, there are certain roadblocks that get in the way of our success that we may not even be aware of. This book will help you recognize them, as well as get past them, in order to achieve your goals.

The first half of Poder de Mujer exposes these buried aspects of our culture that can slow you down, while the second half gives excellent guidance on controlling your emotions without losing your passion, the art of negotiating, the secrets of networking, and the importance of finding people who support you and give you feedback on your endeavors. Each chapter of the book begins with an interview of a successful woman such as Cristina Saralegui, Maria Antonietta Collins, and Maria Elena Salinas. And plenty of real-world advice is scattered throughout the book as well.

Mariela Dabbah can help you clarify your goals and identify the steps needed to achieve them. Don't let fear stop you from doing what you need to do. As Mariela says in her book, "Las mujeres exitosas no tienen miedo."

Me gusto mucho la frescura con que trae al texto situaciones e ideas contemporaneas. Creo que es un libro que motiva a enfocar nuestras metas en un sentido diferente de acuerdo a nuestra propia realidad. Es diferente a otros porque resume en forma breve y directa ideas importantes que muchas veces no nos detenemos a reflexionar del todo. La lectura es dinamica y con un lenguaje fluido. Vale la pena explorarlo.

This influential and motivating book has been, like we say in Spanish, "como pan caliente". Every woman should have it! Certainly, its success has to do with Mariela guiding through her career, leadership experience and accompliments.
