From the first pitch to the last out and all nine innings between, Douglas Florian’s

Growing up loving basseball this book was a delight. The drawings and poems remind me of being a kid and first falling in love with America's pastime...baseball. Its a grand slam of fun poems that is a classic of appreciation for the great sport of baseball.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take me out to the ball game! May 7, 2012
Format:Hardcover
Poem Runs was a hit out of the ball park. From the first pitch to game over, you will be captivated by the detailed descriptions of each specific baseball player's position. Douglas Florian has a talent for combining his artwork and his descriptive poems to make this a must read for children of all ages. You will definitely have time to read this book while enjoying your hot dogs during the 7th inning stretch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who's on First? It's Douglas Florian (again!) April 29, 2013
Format:Hardcover
I didn't get to experience baseball much as a kid but after reading the poems in this book I felt I was right there, swinging my bat, stealing a base, living and breathing the action. Mr. Florian loves baseball and this fact comes across like a fast ball in this nimble collection of "poem runs" (rhymes with "home runs"). I couldn't decide if Mr. Florian was having more fun with the poems, or with his agile illustrations - in the end I decided it was a tie and they're both winners (as they usually are in all his books).

To borrow two words from the back-cover, every kid who's a baseball FAN-ATIC will find this book FAN-TASTIC.
