Annotated List of Works Cited
Bishop, Elizabeth. Poems. New York City: Farrar, Straus and Giroux,1 February 2011. Print.
This book is helpful to anyone who needs concrete details of Bishop's poems. There are 368 pages of 20th century poetry all written by Bishop herself. Bishop's poems cover a variety of tones including sadness, pain, acceptance, and humor. Like most of her works, the poems in this book are literally about landscape and places in the world. The book is fairly easy to read but Bishop's style of writing includes much layered descriptions.
Colwell, Anne A. "About Elizabeth Bishop". Modern American Poetry. Oxford University Press,

This is a valuable web page for someone who needs information about Elizabeth Bishop's family history as well as a few examples of Bishop's work. This site does into detail about both Bishop's mother and father as well as how Bishop was raised. A majority of the article talks about specific works Bishop created along with the people Bishop worked with. This site does not mention anything about Bishop's death but mentions Bishop's accomplishments all the way up till the year of her death. There are a few words that someone may need to look up but for the most part this web page is easy to use and read.
Logan, William. "I Write Entirely for You". The New York Times. New York Times Company,
31 October 2008. Web. 9 May 2013.
This article is useful for anyone who wants to know a little about Elizabeth Bishop's love life. This specific article highlights the spark between Bishop and Robert Lowell, a fellow poet. The article opens up with what seems like to be a clever poem which describes the author's feelings about to poets falling in love. The author then goes on to talk about the poems that both poets have written that appear to be about each other. Most of the article describes the lovey-dovey feelings that could be seen between Bishop and Lowell. Since this is a New York Times article the reading is not entirely easy but definitely witty.
