This review is from: Poems and Songs (Scot. Gaelic Texts Soc. S) (Hardcover)
The spelling of this woman's name is Sìleas. She was a gentlewoman of the MacDonalds of Keppoch. This is an academic text, but should not frighten off anyone truly interested in reading the poetry and discovering the thoughts of a Highland (i.e. Gaelic-speaking) woman of the late 17th century. These texts are bilingual, Gaelic and English. A must for anyone thinking of writing a romantic novel of the period.
