Editorial Reviews

1993 solo release by the photogenic vocalist from A-Ha, sung in his native Norwegian language. Although different from A-Ha's releases, Morten's solo releases are still just as lush and beautiful as those of his full-time band.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's Morten, you can't expect less, February 27, 2007
This review is from: Poetenes Evangelium (Audio CD)
If you are expecting something like take on me, you are in the wrong direction. This is a solo project from a-ha's vocalist in its original language (This guys are from Normay). I don't understand not even a single word, but the music sounds very mature, so the voice of Harket. It's delightful to the ear. Buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful to hear his voice, September 25, 2008

This is a bit of an oddity...Morten's first solo disc after a-ha's golden period, it finds him in glorious voice, singing his heart out. Unfortunately for me it is in Norwegian--a lovely sounding language, but it is hard for me to sing along! I can't comment about the subject of the lyrics, because I haven't found the translations, but I tell you, this guy could sing the phone book and I'd listen. Simply wonderful. If you are a big fan of a-ha, this disc is an easy sell. If you aren't already one of the faithful, there are easier ways to hear Morten--pick up Scoundrel Days or Hunting High and Low. Or heck, pick them both up. Once you're hooked on him, then get back to this little gem and get it as well! I'm docking it one star because the music is good but not really transcendent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another jewel, September 18, 2011

This album has proved to be very different from what I've heard from Morten before. It's the first album I get in his mother tongue. Equally strong and moving, this collection of Norwegian poems about the evangelium is something special. Not for everybody, since is not just another set of songs. The influence of classical music in some of the songs is also great. Highly recommendable!
