I really like that it stands up so I can read hands-free.

As a bonus, opening the case automatically turns on the kindle, and closing the case turns it off.

Its slim, fits my paperwhite well and really adds protection.

This is the perfect case, it is the thinnest and lightest case I could find and still hard so it protects the glass on my kindle. The vertical orientation/flip makes it so you can read it hands free sitting at a table without straining your neck. I can also read it while in bed on my back propping it up on my chest and reading hands free. I also read it while lying on my side and propping it on the bed on either side, so it is hands free. The only criticism I can make is that I wish it would come it different colors.

I can't understand why any other case would be a better buy -- There are hardly any
that I could find that also act as stands so you can read hands free while eating, Price is
so low I was wondering if there was a problem, but I don't see any.

I don't intend to write a full review. The other reviews here cover it pretty well. This cover/stand is good for the price.

When I shop for covers for my Kindle, I like to know how much they weigh. I could not find this information in the description, so I thought I would let anyone who is interested know that this item weighs, according to my postal scale, 3.8 ounces.

I bought a Kindle Paperwhite both for myself and my wife. She wanted the original Amazon cover because it came in different colours, was thinner, etc. I ended up buying this one for myself because it seemed thin enough, and it didn't discourage me that it was a total bargain either.

After having had a chance to experience both covers, I would never trade this one for the original Amazon one. This one isn't much thicker, and it offers practicality in terms of standing your Kindle any way you want.

The product also gives an impression of quality both in material and workmanship. I realise I sound as if I work for this company, but it really was a steal at this price.

The Poetic Vertical Flip cover case will make your Kindle look like some really neat writing stationary in notebook form. The main reason I decided to get this case is because it doubles as a stand. The stand part is awesome, especially if you like to read at a table, perhaps while eating. It might even be useful on a plane in this manner, haven't tried that yet. The case certainly offers protection for the front and back of the Kindle. The sides are a little exposed when the case is closed, but the edges of the case overhang enough to protect. It would most likely take a drop or two without a problem. Probably not as rugged as some other styles of case I've seen. The Kindle will turn on and off automatically with the closing and opening of the lid, which is a handy feature.
To sum things up, it's a pretty decent case, especially if you like the stand feature. If you don't plan on using the stand feature, I'd stick with a model that opens more like a book.

I was hesitant to purchase this product without being able to hold it before buying, but it fits the Kindle Paper-white perfectly. I really like that it stands up so I can read hands-free. It feels like a high-quality product.

The "Smart Shop Online" seller is a front for Poetic, the manufacturer. It's not a 'distributor' or a 'reseller' - they're the same people. My case arrived and I put my kindle paper-white in it, and the first thing I noticed was that I'd turn off the Kindle and then if I closed the case, it turned the Kindle back on - I know this because I could see the front-light come on. Nothing I tried stopped this case activating the Kindle. It's the case, not the Kindle - I was using a Targus case before this, and it didn't have this problem. I checked the reviews and realized there have been a lot of complaints about this - but I also noticed that Poetic/SSO, unlike other sellers, have never responded to a single complaint. So I called Poetic to find out how this product is 'designed' for the Paperwhite and what its (apparently undocumented) features are supposed to be. First, the woman on the phone tried to tell me that there have never been any complaints about this product and that it has no reported defects like this - patently untrue. She tried her best to make me go away, even putting me on hold and 'hanging-up' ... except her phone system didn't actually disconnect me. I could hear her periodically chatting to her friends and laughing and joking in Chinese in the background. That is, until she realized that I hadn't hung-up and I could hear every word she was saying. Then she tried to offer me a replacement - to which I responded that before I took another product, I wanted to know what it's functionality is _supposed_ to be. Again she 'put me on hold', again her phone periodically went-live and I could hear her conversationally talking to co-workers and laughing, again she eventually hung-up only this time the phone did cut me off. So I went to Amazon.com and requested a return. Then I called back.Read more ›

Product was exactly as described. Actually, it was better quality than what I expected it to be based on the low price. Love that I can set my Kindle upright now, I like to read in bed but my arms would get sore....now that's not an issue anymore! Thanks for the great product. :)
