This is one of the most fabulous books I have ever used. Using poetry across the curriculum can be an excellent motivational tool for elementary students. The concepts can be adapted for use for any subject matter and reading in the content area, e.g., art, English, health, music, science, social studies, human values, and citizenship, etc. The book contains step-by-step mini lesson plans that can be easily implemented. This book is ideal for teaching poetry and using poetry to enhance learning for primary students. The author provides additional resources for use with each cross curriculum activity. The book is not a poetry book--not a poetry book; instead it provides you with ideas, focus, activities, lessons, and topics, etc. It basically shows you how to integrate poetry into various content areas in order to achieve learning goals and objectives.
