GREAT Dr. Seuss Resource,

Kudos to Cheryl Potts, this is a wonderful book!As a child, I simply loved Dr. Seuss books! As a teacher, I love to incorporate his books whenever I can. NEA sponsors a program on March 2 each year that celebrates Dr. Seuss's birthday through an emphasis on reading and literacy. It's called Read Across America (RAA). While searching for new "Seussy" ideas for RAA this year, I found this book. What a stroke of luck! This book is a fabulous resource for Dr. Seuss learning activities, not just for RAA, but for everyday! it contains a bio of Dr. Seuss, a Dr. Seuss learning center floor plan, 34 different Language Arts activities using Dr. Seuss books, culminating activities, a bibliography of Dr. Seuss books,reproducible pages, and a list of related teacher resource books! THIS BOOK IS A COMPLETE, COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCE for Dr. Seuss literacy activities, not one that will sit on the shelf! I have many resource books that looked like a great idea, but now just gather dust...this one does not...it has seen and will see LOTS of USE! It is worth every penny! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!(the author also has the same type of thematic books for Shel Silverstein and Jack Prelutsky) |
