Automatic Remote Backup for your Computer and Mobile Devices – Reinvented
Backing up is like taking vitamins; we know it’s good for us, but it’s often too difficult to remember and maintain. Online cloud backup solutions are slow and expensive for large document or photo collections, and attaching a hard drive to your laptop or computer is not practical when you’re on the move. Set up Pogoplug in 60 seconds, point all your computers and mobile devices to back up to your Pogoplug, and never worry about backing up again.

Live Adventurously

Unlike other solutions, Pogoplug works to safeguard your computers and devices even when you take them away from your home or office. Live adventurously - trek through Tibet, climb Mount Whitney, or scuba in the Great Barrier Reef. You can rest easy knowing that your photos, documents and other important files are continuously and automatically copied to your Pogoplug even when you are on the go.

Access Your Backup from Anywhere
Missing a critical presentation because you dropped your laptop? Access and download it on the go from any web browser. Can’t fit all of your photos or videos on your phone or laptop? Leave them safely at home on your Pogoplug, but access them from anywhere.

Powerful
Back up all of your family’s devices or even a small office to a Pogoplug. Simply add additional or larger drives as your storage needs grow – no fees, no limits.

Secure Sharing, Easy Sharing
Worried about publishing videos of your kids on Facebook or YouTube? Share large files instantly, securely and privately via links you email to trusted friends and family.

Or, publish to Facebook, Google+ or Twitter with a single click.

60-Second Setup
We challenge you to set up Pogoplug in 60 seconds or less. It’s as easy as connecting Pogoplug to your router, attaching any USB or SD storage, and entering an email address and password to create your account.

How It Works

1. Add storage.

2. Install Pogoplug's free companion software
to start continuos backup.

3. Keep your files safe at home and
access from anywhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars MIsleading April 26, 2012
I paid for the Pogo Plug device and hooked up a hard drive. Twice it has erased all the files on my hard drive. I am unable to edit any files on my pogo plug hard drive such as disabling collaboration. I was told by customer support this had to be done on the web browser, it still didn't work. Finally customer service told me I had to purchase their software to edit my hard drive files. I was never told this when I purchased the device. I was told I could make a one time purchase and have my own cloud for life and with no additional charges.

The web site is the most unfriendly user website I have ever encountered. Nothing is intuitive. They offer software and don't explain what the software will allow you to do. I can put files on my pogo plug hard drive and access them from my iPad and a web browser, but the main reason I did this was to allow my family access to my photos. Granted I can erase all the files from my pogo plug, but I can't edit permissions. What they really want you to do is buy cloud storage, buying the device is to suck you in to buy additional storage or software. Buyer beware.

1.0 out of 5 stars Extremely disappointed September 25, 2012
This product was a great disappointment. It does NOT work as advertised, or even as documented in their online help.

The claimed desktop app would allow user to "Access your Pogoplug like a local drive on your desktop." This is absolutely false. All the files on the Pogoplug are in read-only mode through the desktop app. There is no way to copy files to the Pogoplug, edit or delete files on the pseudo drive without going through their browser interface.

Contrary to their claims, there is no way to pick and choose which of your backups you want to be available online. Their help documentation for the Pogoplug mobile says how to select which folders will be shared--except all the features described are not available.

They claimed files could be shared with other users. Also false--unless you want to share everything publicly with the world. All security is disabled. Account requires "upgrade" with a monthly fee to select who can access your folders or be able to use any of the security features.

They claim the whole family can use this to back up their computers and devices. Also false, unless EVERYONE has access to EVERYTHING and you all log in with one shared password (i.e., no security at all).

Rather than give your money to these bait-and-switch charlatans, use the paid version of Google Drive or Dropbox or CrashPlan instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Usefull if you have both iOS and Android devices October 20, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase
I use iOS devices and my wife uses Android devices. Pogo plug allows me to consolidate all pictures from all of our devices to NAS.
New Cloud sync in iOS now uploads to the same directory as pogo plugs upload directory for Android devices.

Downside is that in order to make above configuration you need to buy pogo plug premium software for another $29. This software should have been included. Free software provided by pogo plug is crap and will not do much.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a waste of money and time October 19, 2012
I never post comments, but with the frustration that the Pogoplug device has caused me I will make an exception. I did not have any issues installing the device to my network or adding hard drives. Uploading files was also ok and simple. What really frustrated me is the lack of technology. This is my fault for not doing my homework before buying the device. My main idea was to have my music in one place. Music player is horrible. It has no features other than play and pause. What about shuffle pogoplug? Streaming movies (music videos in wmv format) did not work for me. I go to pogoplug website for support and all you get simple how to's. No real information on how to troubleshoot or what file formats are acceptable. Other sites/forums that offers some sort of help or says negative things about pogoplug are block. hmmm, I wonder why? My solution, toss the pogoplug device and work on my original plan, my own cloud.

Do not buy POGOPLUG... But if think you should... READ ALL OF THIS and read pogoplug forums

POGOPLUGS lack of attention to many IT aspects such as install and updates
makes this product difficult to install and use
and seemly random problems are unpredictable to trouble shoot

Do not buy POGOPLUG...
But if you do... READ ALL OF THIS and read pogoplug forums

If you buy a pogoplug and...
1. it installs
2. and works
3. functional properly each time you try to use it YOU ARE LUCKY!!!

There are some simple steps
1. you must get LUCKY guessing all settings such as DSN, IP etc
with every step of the install
there is no feedback during install,
no indication of what is not working IT JUST DOESNT WORK!!!!!

2. You must get LUCKY guessing what procedures will keep the pogoplug working.
Trobleshooting and resolving the problem was unpredictable because
any one procedure NEVER worked every time
It constantly went off-line

I did one or all of these steps until I FINALLY GAVE UP!!!
1. go to the online My Pogoplug and futz with settings
2. restart/reload program
3. cycle the power on the pogoplg
4. unplug the Ethernet cable
5. reboot computer
6. delete the logs
7. uninstall drivers, delete registry entries , reinstall software/drivers

I cannot stress enough DO NOT CALL POGOPLUG SUPPORT
DO READ THE POGOPLUG FORUMS ...I am not the only one

if this has not scared you...
I have endured many software updates and each caused problems
1. if one computer on the network was a different version the results were unpredictable,
such as: did not list files locally , the computer was not accessible remotely, etc etc
2.
