5.0 out of 5 stars Point Blank - read it NOW!!
WOW! Richard Stark (AKA Donald E. Westlake) writes amazing, faced paced, gritty crime. His main character, Parker, isn't a classic good guy, he's not going beyond the law to seek revenge for a moral wrong. He is morally questionable and sometimes his actions are repugnant but I still always want him to win. I have only dipped my little toe into the pool that is the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the book cover as pictured
Love the Parker series so I thought I was buying this book with the red Lee Marvin book cover you see pictured somewhere on this page. It was described as a British first edition but no where does it really confirm that. Paid over ten bucks for it and it arrived with a 75 cents sticker on the cover. Imagine my surprise. 5 stars for Parker and Lee Marvin, 1 star for the...

He is morally questionable and sometimes his actions are repugnant but I still always want him to win. I have only dipped my little toe into the pool that is the "Parker series" of Stark books (I think I have read four of about 24 "Parker" books) but I intend to immerse myself and read every single one of them. You start to think the author must be a criminal mastermind to come up with all these ingenious heists and rackets. I also love how the books range across so many years and yet Parker remains as young, invincible and ageless as ever.

Btw, the Parker series are fantastic so it's too bad I have to leave a one star review here since I can't change my seller feedback.

Point Blank is a very compeling story which I must recommend to all of my fellow readers such as yourselves. I dont want to spoil the book for you, all I want to say is that it is an excellent book and a true page turner (it was for me!).
