5.0 out of 5 stars Songs from the movie - NOT on the soundtrack
Other than Hendrix's '6 was 9', there was one more song I remember not being on the soundtrack. 'Rose Colored Glasses' by School of Fish. What an incredible song and an incredible band. That song SHOULD have been on the record, CD, tape, whatever. Just my 2 cents.

1.0 out of 5 stars Where's the REAL music?
Point Break. A movie I STILL watch every 3 or 4 months. It never gets old. One of THEE most attractive things about the film is Mark Isham's music - the moments of surfing, reflections after surfing, while sky diving, Utah and Tyler falling in love - all those scenes were beautifully accented by this once New Age artist's style of music and it played a VITAL part in...

5.0 out of 5 stars Cult -issim !, February 21, 2003

Point Break is a successful film, become cult, mainly among enthusiasts for big thrills (Surf and Xtrem sports), and its soundtrack is quite simply incoutournable ! RATT had never made such a good title (also taste the album '99) and L.A. GUNS is at the Top. The continuation is also 'good spirit', WIRE TRAIN, CONCRETE BLONDE, LIQUID JESUS, LOUDHOUSE, SHARK ISLAND, PUBLIC IMAGE LTD. (quite selected in the film context), WESTWORLD (excellent last CD '02) and not recognized it yet Sheryl CROW ! Only refret, Jimi HENDRIX (the title "If 6 was 9" in the scene of the party on the beach) is not on this CD (for reasons of copyrights !)... KWFM.net Team [100% Rock Webzine & Radio !].

Point Break. A movie I STILL watch every 3 or 4 months. It never gets old. One of THEE most attractive things about the film is Mark Isham's music - the moments of surfing, reflections after surfing, while sky diving, Utah and Tyler falling in love - all those scenes were beautifully accented by this once New Age artist's style of music and it played a VITAL part in setting the mood for the film and thus making the movie as successful as it was. Sadly (and as per usual) record companies have lost their stones in taking a chance on this type of music being in a soundtrack as they are only looking for the most commercial success they can get and NONE of Mark Isham's music made it on this soundtrack. If it's the "lost Sheryl Crow song" you seek then so be it. But every other song on this soundtrack can already be found on all the featured artist's other studio Cds and makes this soundtrack a complete waste of time re-releasing old music that can already be bought elswhere on other albums.

Truely sad.

Its been a "long, long" time since I heard a soundtrack this good. Nice tracks, long work-able songs. This is the center piece to the greatest film of all time, and " I don't mind" telling you this.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a real gem!, July 30, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Point Break: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Simply a great sound track from a great movie. Point Break has long been one of my favorite movies and I really enjoyed the music in the movie so I decided to purchase the very hard to find soundtrack. Upon listening to the soundtrack for the first time, I discovered what is now one of my favorite songs (of any genre). When I first listened to track #10 (Hundreds Of Tears) I was a bit surprised as I didn't remember the song from the movie but (even though I'm not normally much of a Sheryl Crow fan) I immediate fell in love with this song. After doing a little research, I learned that "Hundreds Of Tears" was never released as a single or on any of Sheryl Crow's albums so the Point Break sound track was the only album containing it.
This soundtrack was certainly the best 8 dollar investment I've ever made!

5.0 out of 5 stars for Point Break fans, and for A music fan from Newbury, Engl, November 14, 2003

This album rocks! Best songs are Ratt - Nobody Rides For Free, Loudhouse - Smoke On The Water (this is the remake, fan from England while they're playing American football, soccer, on the beach), and Concrete Blonde - I Want You. The rest is decent. This album, like the movie, is about adrenalin and Ratt and Loudhouse provide that! This one ranks with my favorite soundtracks - "Top Gun" and "Sleepless in Seattle". Turn it up, keep it loud and proud just like Dee S. would say from the House of Hair!

5.0 out of 5 stars the best soundtrack ever!, July 13, 2000

Let's just say that I had already bought one copy of this soundtrack back in 1991. Somewhere along the line, the cd got broken. This CD is so good that 9 years later, I still love it and must buy it again. The songs are such a compliment to the movie that you can instantly imagine which scene of the movie that they once played in. This is a must have.
