There were two CDs worth of music released for Point Break when it came out back in the day, but not everyone knows that. One of them was a compilation of songs that were heard in the movie. As good as that music was, it left me feeling a bit let down, because Mr.Isham's original score was awesome.

I greatly appreciate the music Mark Isham has composed for movies over the years and the original score for "Point Break" is no exception. So,you can imagine how cool it was to find out that the music from the original score was also released; and this is it. If you loved the movie and you're a Mark Isham fan, then you can't afford to be without this CD.

Just received this in the mail, and while it does capture some of the great instrumental scores from the film, it leaves out one of the best tracks of all (not to mention the one I bought the album for in the first place): "Meet the Bodhisattva," which is the music heard when Utah lays eyes on Bodhi for the first time (as he's finishing his lesson with Tyler, he spots Bodhi in the water). To my ear, that single piece of music is one of the defining pieces of the film. When I hear it, it captures the magic of this epic cult classic. It's the one piece of music that can transport you into the film itself, and it by itself reminds me of all the reasons I love this movie. A shame, and a surprise, that it would be left out of the track list on this one. A disappointment, but if there's any saving grace, it's that I can add the limited edition album (which was new from the record shop I bought it from) to the collection of rarities.

A great film score from a true classic. For the longest time this film score was unavailable. I had lost hope that it would ever be released. The only soundtrack released was from various artists and as good as those songs were I really wanted the Mark Isham film score, and it's FINALLY here! This film score is one of the most fulfilling scores I have ever purchased because you truly get every theme from the film raw and uncut. It is common for other soundtracks to alter the music or leave some tracks out. This one doesn't, you truly get what you pay for 22 tracks of great uncut music straight from the film. I got more than I bargained for with this one.
