What a beautiful recording! Nando is a wonderful guitarist and singer who has put together a beautiful selection of songs. There is an amazing sense of joy in his music; you can't help but feel better after listening to it. There isn't a disappointing track on the CD. This is especially recommended for fans of Pat Metheny (whom Nando worked with in the early 80s). There is a kind of "Methenyesque" quality to several songs, reminiscent of the music on "Still Life (Talking)" and "Letter from Home". In fact, Lyle Mays plays piano on several songs. All in all not to be missed; highly recommended!

Being a musician myself, I have followed the likes of Pat Metheny (a very nice guy too!), for decades. When Nando Lauria performed with Metheny, a new feel was created. In addition to this work, and Novo Brasil, as well as his other Narada works, you HAVE to hear Lauria on the the Narada Christmas Collection doing Gloria. The harmonies are incredible and will give you chills. Too bad its the groups like N'SYNC and Brittney Spears that get all the hype. Sheesh.

This CD isn't going to be for everybody, but if you are into a more acoustic/relaxed feel and like the variety of the island tempos, check Nando out. He's a fine, fleet fingered guitarist with a great touch, and hey, any album with some work with ex-Pat Metheny drummer Danny Gottlieb and Lyle Mays is worth looking into in my book. Fans of Pat Metheny, especially his older work, should absolutely check Nando out, although of course Nandos guitar work is much different.

I've owned this CD for about 2 years now and find it a rare treasure in the Bossa Nova genre. This entire CD is light and airy and leaves you feeling refreshed if not entirely relaxed. I've always been a big fan of the Bossa Nova genre and Nando Lauria's CD does it justice! Nando Lauria is a true master on the acoutic quitar and his vocals are outstanding! I'd say if you've got the cash, get the CD. You won't be disappointed.

I ordered this item because of his rendition of the old Beatles's classic "If I Fell." I first heard it on a jazz station while in the car. For the first time in my life, a song was so beautiful that it moved me to tears. I obtained the name of the artist from the radio station and ordered it. "If I Fell" had the same effect on me again! :) And the rest of the CD is just as beautiful. What a find! He has a new fan...even if i have no idea what he is singing about! I HIGHLY recommend it.

As much as I love "Points of View," I am even more enamored of Lauria's CD "Novo Brasil." It is the most beautiful CD I've ever listened (and danced) to. Unfortunately, it seems to be out of print. ?? Is there anyone out there who might be able to locate a copy?

Nando Lauria brings us a brasilian jazz surprise, with a wonderfull variety of music. Jazz, Brazilian rhythms and more. His voice, which is wonderfully dubbed in one of the songs, should be heard more. Lauria is the perfect musician to play with other top-fusion artists. So, give him a call, and make us musiclovers happy!!!

Nando Lauria's "Points of View" is a Brazilian jazz classic that is hard to find. Though I owned a cassette tape for years, I have been trying to get the CD.

Just like a beautiful jewel hidden at the bottom of a sea full of jazz records, Points of View is something precious, unique and relaxing.
