Paul Poiret,
This review is from: Poiret Fashion Design Paper Dolls in Full Color (Paperback)
Paul Poiret was one of the greatest couturiers of the early twentieth century, and this is a fabulous tribute to his work by Tom Tierney.
The illustrations are beautifully rendered and colorful. Some of his most famous designs are included, "Sorbet", "Faune", etc. There is even a costume Poiret designed for Mata Hari for "The Minaret". I would have liked to see more of Poiret's exotic, Eastern inspired work from the early teens, when he was at the peak of his fame. Also, there is no mention of Poiret's wife and muse, Denise, in the text, even though she contributed greatly to his career.

Hours of enjoyment,

Thanks to Tierney for offering yet another fine example of historical costumes. His designs take much of the guesswork out of designing costumes for all my characters.
