I've been a fan of Agatha Christie's book's for decades but it was David Suchet's superb portrayal of Hercule Poirot on the PBS Masterpiece Theater series that ultimately allowed me to fully appreciate this unusual but brilliant Christie hero. This particular video was doubly pleasurable because I spent nine days in Rhodes in 1977 and let me assure you that the streets and exterior views are absolutely authentic. And the Palace of the Grand Masters visited by Poirot and his companion also provides the perfect setting in the story. Rhodes was indeed the highlight of my month in Greece and this intriguing mystery brilliantly enacted by an outstanding cast keeps my memories ever fresh. I've probably seen this film thirty to forty times, and although I know the story so well ... it never disappoints.
