Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

Alyssa Milano plays Lily, a Good Girl who moves to LA to attend art school and discovers a secret diary belonging to Ivy, from the previous movie. (That plot point alone should warn you that Poison Ivy 2 bears, at best, a distant resemblance to the original, and more's the pity.) Inspired by Ivy's "philosophy" of pushing all boundaries, Lily decides to explore the dark side of herself, which basically boils down to her chasing after a petulant, self-absorbed sculptor (Johnathon Schaech) and in turn being chased by her leacherous, self-absorbed art teacher. The point of movies like Ivy 2 is to have some fun, a few thrills, and we're done, thank you very much. But the filmmakers felt obliged to lard this thing up with ponderous pretension and Artistic Angst. The result is sort of a cross between Bikini Med School and La Notte, with a happy ending tacked on. Bleh. Milano tries her best to inject a little life and humanity into the proceedings, but it's an uphill climb all the way. --Geof Miller

2.0 out of 5 stars Unrated "No Nudity", January 3, 2002
This review is from: Poison Ivy II: Lily (DVD)
The movie was a good thriller, if you are looking for Nudity, the Unrated version could easily have passed for PG. Get "Embrace of the Vampire" if you want good nude sceens of Alyssa Milano.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, beautifully shot video-premiere gem, April 28, 1999
By A Customer
Although lacking the depth, perceptive characterisation and strong performances of the original POISON IVY (which was, essentially, a story about teenage alienation and loneliness rather than the erotic thriller it was billed as), this is a decent sequel with much to commend it. It's main asset is Alyssa Milano, who is stunningly sexy, gorgeous and convincing in the lead role. She dominates the movie, though its very nicely directed by Anne Goursand, who brings the same visual style and sheen she brought to EMBRACE OF THE VAMPIRE. It's a compelling, erotic drama that's a must for all lovers of Alyssa.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ignore the Non-Philistine Naysayers, March 11, 2007
It's simple - Jaime Pressly in the hottest thing she ever did. These kinds of films are often all gong and no dinner, but not in the case of "The New Seduction". You'll flip your toupee watching it, or I'll eat my shorts. Also, Ms. Milano makes the second entry watchable. What's that? Don't care for the plot, music, story, acting, etc.? Just turn the sound down and enjoy. Get'chr priorities straight, son.
