Book Description

Jake Merrill was raised by his grandmother, Ruby, and her hilarious friends. After a suspicious death at the retirement home where Ruby lives, she enlists Jake and Chanel, the beautiful activities director, to help her find the killer.

But secrets Ruby has kept for decades threaten her family and the man she's always loved but could never have. Chanel's unstable ex-boyfriend, a presumably dead relative, and vicious criminals add to the confusion. Time is running out as Jake, Chanel, and Ruby desperately search for clues to solve the murders and fight to save those they love.

Don't miss the exciting sequel to Poison Me, The Colony, a clean romantic suspense about Jake's sister, Brinlee.

"Poison Me made me laugh out loud and thoroughly enjoy myself. I wish I had a friend like Ruby! Snappy dialogue, romance, and a strong sense of family made this book well worth reading."

Rachel Ann Nunes, bestselling author of Line of Fire and Before I Say Goodbye

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Poison Me is an entertaining glimpse into the lives of Ruby and her grandson. With romance, comedy and suspense, this book has it all. Buy and read this wonderful book, you will be glad you did!"
Wendy Davy, author of Deadly Chase

From the Author

This book was so much fun to write, I kept remembering the ladies from Steel Magnolias who were feisty but truly cared about each other. It was also great to write two romances: one young and so exciting, the other mature and even better because of the long wait to be together.
I hope you enjoy this crazy, fun, and romantic story!

This book is very well thought out and executed. It has two wonderful and CLEAN love stories. Plus plenty of mystery and intrigue. There are several interesting sub plots that all link together in the end. Highly recommended this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny, clean romance July 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This short novel set in a ritzy, old folks home in Preston, Idaho has quirky characters and a sweet romance. It wasn't as gripping and heartpounding as I'd hoped, but still was an enjoyable read that held my interest, made me laugh (the old people in this book are a hoot!) and kept me wondering "Who dun it?" all the way to the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Poison Me -- Easy to Swallow! March 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Oh, wow, I'm not even sure where to begin this review! This was actually two romances in one, with a cast of zany characters and side stories to mix things up even further.

Handsome pediatrician Jake Merrill is almost immediately drawn to Chanel, the new activities director at his grandmother's retirement community. But Jake carries scars that keep him from fully committing to the relationship. And Chanel is recovering from a betrayal by her fiance, Ace (but come on, shouldn't she have known not to trust a guy named Ace, lol?).

Jake and Chanel have their hands full with his grandmother, Ruby, and her friends as they try to figure out who's killing their friends in the community. And Ruby has a pretty big secret of her own that will rattle Jake to his foundations.

Can Ruby resolve her own secrets? Can Jake forgive himself? Can Chanel get over Ace and his betrayal -- not to mention staying alive when several factions converge on the retirement community? And finally, can somebody put a muzzle on Aunt Ellie, who has no filter whatsoever? Oh, and the real murderer? Yowza! It was absolutely the last thing I expected!

For a fun little read, this is the one!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Ms. Marple type mysteries March 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Poison me is cute and quirky. A fun read that also packs a lot of suspense. If you enjoyed the TV sitcom "Murder, She Wrote" or Ms. Marple mysteries, with a little romance and a lot of action thrown in, this is the book for you.
