From Library Journal
Halstead has thoroughly revised the first edition of this standard work on dangerous marine animals. Chapters on dinoflagellates, sponges, corals, and fish poisons have been substantially expanded and revised in light of recent research; other chapters also include updated research results and bibliographies. The visuals have been greatly improved: black-and-white illustrations are clearer and the large plate section, which previously featured only a few color plates, is now primarily in color, including handsome depictions of jellyfish, fish, and crabs. An important purchase for larger public and research libraries regardless of whether the first edition is owned. Susan Klimley, Columbia Univ. Libs.
