5.0 out of 5 stars The Poisons and Antidotes Sourcebook, December 21, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Poisons and Antidotes Sourcebook (Facts for Life) (Paperback)
This book is a very complete guide to poisons. What they are, what part is the most dangerous, who it effects(adults, kids, animals),where it is located
geographicly, how it acts, and how its cured,if it can be cured. I have studied herbs for about 20 years and this is the information I have been trying to find under herbal headings, and couldn't. This book lets you know
the poisons you play with every day around your home( and don't know it.)
You will think twice about everything you do, and you should.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best book on the subject, September 2, 2006
This review is from: The Poisons and Antidotes Sourcebook (Facts for Life) (Paperback)
I have many books on this subject
and this is exactly what i was looking for when i typed the word poisons in the search engine it is neither too scientific nor too simple "the best book on the subject" If this book doesn't live up to your expectations i do not believe there is another book that can give you more info on so many poisons.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great short encycleopedia of poisons and antidotes, June 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Written in laymen terms this is a useful book for defining terms. You won't find any biochemistry here, which is great if you want a short answer but bad if you would like to know the chemistry --- how does a particular poison attack?
Herbes are identified by name but not by any manner by which they could be identified in nature.

Antidotes, what few exist, are identified but again, in words only. The biochemistry is again missing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poisons today., April 1, 2000
Poisons surround us, today, more than ever. If you want a concise yet complete work on hundreds of poisons, from everyday items to exotic substances, this book is a must. In my view, no home can skip this one - the information in it can save your life, or the lives of your loved ones or pets. May you never need to use the information contained in this amazing book - but, if you ever need it, better to have it!
