My husband bought this game for himself and then started collecting the rest of the Pokemon games from years back. I was curious why a grown man would want to play Pokemon, until I tried it. This game caught my attention from the beginning. All the different taskings and the excitement of leveling up your pokemon to gain more moves was great. After playing the rest of his Pokemon games, I see the difference over the years. The graphics on Sapphire are amazing! And the new Pokemon are great. Also, instead of fighting one twin at a time, you get to use both of your top Pokemon to fight at the same time. The only drawback is without a book to cheat off of, you really wonder all the things you might be missing out on. That's why I ordered the Ruby and Sapphire guide so I can go back and see where all the goodies are. I hope you enjoy this game as much as we have.

In the Sapphire version you can collect up to 200 pokemon unless you use a gameshark for Jirachi and Deoxys. You can battle on 2-on-2 battles with your friends. The hardest gym leader I think was Norman(your dad). Norman is just like Whitney. You can enter pokemon contests and try to win ribbons for your pokemon. To bad there are only 8 gym leaders. I wanted 16 gym leaders. The pokemon league isin't that hard as long as you tram\in your pokemon well. The highest level in the pokemon league is LV.58. I beat the pokemon league over 20 times. The pokemon you can start out with is Treeko(grass), Torchic(Fire), and Mudkip(water). I started out with Torchic. Team Aqua can be a little tough if you don't train your pokemon well. I'm not going to say anything else.
A good team is(my team):
Flygon
Gardevoir
Camerupt
Salamence
Metagross
Kyogre

Okay, this game is the COOLEST!!! I should know. I've had this game for almost 3 years now. Now, I suppose People may be wondering, WHICH GAME TO GET??? Well, Folks, I know the answer. First of all, it depends on Which one you want to beat the Elite Four with (And Steven). But, of course, it's your descision. Well I strongly recommend Pokemon Sapphire. Why? Kyogre of course! The Legendary! I beat the Champion with Kyogre! In fact, when I was battling Steven, I only used Kyogre, and I beat him! I only had to attack once to each pokemon (Except for one-I attacked it twice) And they fainted!!! Also, I recommend using Blaziken, he's really strong, and great for expert players. Let's just say I have a soft spot for Fire Pokemon. The graphics are top-notch and the sound is good. I especially love the Mt. Pyre Music, it's sooooo awesome. Also, for those of you who want to know, You can only find Chimeco on the Top of Mt. Pyre where there's grass. Chimeco also makes a Ching! Sound as it's cry. I have just found Latias for the first time, yesterday, and once you find it once, it's so easy to track. I found it 4 more times that same day! In like, maybe an hour! Also, I like Latias better than Latios, so Latias fans (And those of you who LOVED the Pokemon Heroes movie) Go FOR SAPPHIRE!!! Later!

This is one of the best pokemon games I own (which is a lot). Pokemon Sapphire let's you choose to be a boy or girl and you choose your own starter pokemon. THe choices are Treeko (grass), Torchic (fire), or Mudkip (water). All of them are awesome although I started out with Torchic.
Pokemon Sapphire also has a 2-on-2 battle mode. Fighting with 2 pokemon can be lots of fun.
The graphics are much better than the other pokemon games.
Another cool feature that I like is the new attacks. They are simply awesome! Blaze Kick and Sky Uppercut are some of my favorite attacks in the game.
Pros:
-Cool graphics
-New attacks
-2-on-2 battle mode
-New pokemon
Cons:
-Can't trade with Red/Bluee/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal
Well, that's all I can think of. I hope you get this game. It rocks!!

When i first got this game i was like wow another pokemon game, the i saw all the kinds of new creatures it had and my favorite is Ralts. Of course for each new game there is always problems like if you chose the wrong starter and all that time is wasted. The pros are the following 2 on 2 battles(in game or with freinds{also a pair of twin gym leaders}), over a 100 new pokemon to battle with, new pokeballs and items, and berries. The cons are you can not trade with older verisons(you can trade and battle with latter verisons though), they took away the pokegear, still cant rename a traded pokmon, and the elite four are twice as strong as in silver, gold, and crystal. All in all I would reconmend this game to anyone, wheither they be a friend or starger.

Ps I still havent beat it.

Great,I'm back on the internet....and I'm to give a small review of Pokemon Sapphire(my favorite game)this time.As you may already know,SAPPHIRE IS BETTER THAN RUBY!It has Kyogre and Latias.Pokemon Ruby only has Groudon and Latios, unless you have an Eon Ticket(you figure out what to do with it).Kyogre(water-type)vs.Groudon(ground-type)...you do the math!Although Latias is a bit weaker than her brother Latios,it has the moves to defeat him.Plus it's kinda cute.Other legendaries(that are in both games)are Regirock,Regice,Registeel and Rayquaza.Also,2 extra Pokemon,Jirachi and Deoxys, can be obtained using Action Replay.Other exclusive Pokemon include Sapphire:Lunatone,Sableye,Seviper,Lotad,Lombre and Ludicolo.Ruby:Solrock,Mawile(sadly),Zangoose,Seedot,Nuzleaf and Shiftry....

one thing about this game that prevents it from getting 5 stars is..NOT EVERY POKEMON IS IN THIS GAME!! about 70% of the pokemon on here are the new ones. they only have a few of the old pokemon, but they TOOK ALL THE GOOD POKEMON AWAY!! no lickitung, no mr.mime, AND NO AMPHAROS!! :'(...and YOU CAN'T TRADE WITH THE OLD GAMES..., BUT THEY IMPROVED A FEW THINGS. the BOX SYSTEM IS BETTER. it takes much less time to change boxes and find a pokemon, and there's also two kinds of bikes now, the acro bike and the mach bike. the acro bike is slower, but can get you through certain obstacles the mach bike can't, and the mach bike is just a fast bike. they have more legendary pokemon in this game than in the past, and ANOTHER REALLY GREAT THING IS there isn't any pokemon that require a gameshark to obtain!! even though they took away my 10 favorite pokemon...you should still buy this if you like the pokemon games

I got Ruby almost as soon as it was released and was amazed at how wonderfully good it is!
The game follows on from past titles in the sense that you have just started out as a pokemon trainer. This time, you are a region called Hoenn, however, compared to the other games, Hoenn has much more depth and mystery.
It also has new features such as pokemon contests, but the best idea is that of 2 on 2 battles, in which you have two pokemon and your oppenent has two pokemon.
A downside to the game however is the fact that you cannot trade with past titles to get monsters like Charmander and Chikorita but with the release of Colosseum, this may change.
Another thing is that there are only 200 monsters that you can catch, where the others are, I do not know but Colosseum is set to change that.
If I were you, I would not delay in getting this game, It is brilliant!!!
