Great! But what about the music?, November 18, 2005

I love Add N To (X). "Avant Hard", "Add Insult To Injury", and the "Metal Fingers In My Body" single are full of mind blowing creativity. Any person craving electronic music with a soul would say they've hit the jackpot with these.
Then there are some other albums like "The Poker Roll" that make me think that Add N To (X)--who worship machines-- really are machines complete with an On/Off switch and everything. Somebody must have turned them OFF for "White Scrapie" and then back ON for the "Plug Me In" video.
"White Scrapie" seems like they are trying to hard to create a subversive down tempo mood. They don't need to try, though, they already are subversive, so why would they waste their time with A)anything down tempo, and B)a voice and lyrics that seem so contrived?
Whoever is controlling the machine definitely turned them back on for the "Plug Me In" video. I love that song and it seems like the perfect video. But then again, who doesn't like hot lesbians rolling around on a bed with all sorts of freaky contraptions?
I'm willing to put up with some of the songs they put out. It just shocks me when i hate them.
If you're going to buy this Cd, don't buy it for the ten minutes and two songs worth of music. Buy it for the awesome video. But don't spend too much money on it.
