Totally Pokemon Reformatted, April 12, 2001
Well I have to give the CD a decent score because I sing on it...but to be honest I was upset at how the release of this album was handled, as most Pokemon fans seem to be. The reason nearly all the tracks from Totally Pokemon are on this CD is because this CD is essentially a re-release of Totally Pokemon. KOCH didn't want to put any money behind promoting Totally Pokemon since the Pokemon "craze" has been in decline...so they figured that since practically no one knew that Totally Pokemon was even available (because it wasn't promoted!) and they needed to release a movie soundtrack - fast, they would save themselves a bunch of money by re-releasing material they already had...plus they wouldn't even have to put the $$$ into advertising it since the release of the movie would be enough recognition for sales. What a cheap way of handling it, right? ARGH! Sorry I sound so bitter, but I just wish things had been handled differently. Anyway, if you're lookong for fun pop music, either this CD or Totally Pokemon are worth the $15. Of course I'm biased because I sing on it, but I still think it's a good record. I know this was a lot of random info, but I thought the true Pokemon fans would appreciate the inside scoop...hope you guys are enjoying your CDs! And you should have heard the version of Two Perfect Girls that we sang...it was so much better...I'm sad it didn't make the final cut :(

Pokemon Ultimate Soundtrack, April 10, 2001
Great, sadly most of the songs DID come out already on the Totally Pokemon Soundtrack. New things? 3 new songs, Pokemon Johto Movie Version, To know the unknown by Innosense, Instrumental Medley from the movie Spell of the Unknown, a poster with pictures of all 251 pokemon (pictures only to my disappointment), and 2 music videos (new pokerap, and opening battle scene from the movie) As a collector, i had to have it, but a lot of it is rehash. As it stands, if you didn't get totally pokemon this is a great soundtrack. They took the best songs from that album and the movie songs and some little extras to make a good album, I just wish there were more new stuff for someone who also has Totally Pokemon.

Why did they even bother?, April 14, 2001
As a seasoned Pokémon fan, both of the US and Japanese content, I am usually willing to defend any CD or movie with a Pokémon theme. I did it with Pokémon The Movie 2000, despite a lacklustre collection of overrated pop music aimed at 8 year olds. There is however, no defending this so-called `soundtrack'. It is simply another version of the `Totally Pokémon' CD that we saw in January, which was without question a superb collection of perhaps only slightly too `poppy' songs. The success of this CD does not however justify the re-launch of a clone product, with only three extra tracks. It makes me wonder why the producers even bothered to bring out Totally Pokémon, when they knew that the soundtrack was going to be the same thing...Overall, if you bought the Totally Pokémon CD, then this CD is only for the most die-hard Pokémon collector to add to your hoard. Otherwise, I would suggest saving your money for a copy of the Japanese Third movie score, which was a wonderful compilation of music, rivalling everything on the US Third Movie soundtrack CD. I only hope that the fourth Pokémon movie's soundtrack is something more inspiring than a rework of the Johto series score.
