THE BEST ONE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pokemon: Christmas Bash (Audio CD)
WOW!! Pokemon has done it again! Brinig joy to us, that is! The BEST songs are (OK, they' re ALL the BEST):
#1: Pokemon Christmas Bash: (The whole cast sang) when Brock says -"I'm Brock back from the block..." it's so awesome! It's really cool also when everyone goes: "Joy! Jenny!" #2: I'm Giving Santa a Pikachu This Christmas (Sung by Professor Oak and Ash) I just LOVE it! Especially when they go: "Now Chritsmas Eves will be a breeze as I have one of these!" Also "And from the shop and twirling...candy canes!" #3: Winter Is The Coolest Time of the Year: (Misty): when Misty says: "Let's build a snowman," and Ash says, "I have a better idea..." it really makes you realize the true meaning of winter. #4: Nobody Don't Like Christmas (Meowth): Meowth says: When nobody don't like Christmas, it's the time of year everyone adores..." I fell on laughing on the floor. 'Cause, you NEED to admit... Meowth is funny! #5: I Keep My Home In My Heart (Brock and Misty): explains what Christmas is REALLY about-family, joy... 'Nuff said. #6: The Christmas Song (Team Rocket): "We'll find it hard to sleep tonight..." and "I know that Santa is on his way..." just makes you, well, realize that if you're a grownup, remember how you used to be a kid, sitting there and not sleeping, waiting for Santa. And if you're a kid, it just makes you...wanna HAVE THE PRESENTS FASTER! A great song to keep you from watching the clock. #7: Under the Misletoe (Ash and Misty) : "Maybe this Christmas a true love will show..." is one of my personal favorite lines, which Misty says. "Merry, merry christmas, I'd like you to know..." which Ash sings, is also awesome. Hey, I think this is a great song. #8: Must be Santa (Ash, Brock, Misty): "Must be Santa, must be Santa..." is a great line. Very good. #9: The Night Before Christmas (whole cast): "T'was the night before Christmas..."-Brock "Uh, Brock I already read that part..."-Ash "Oh. Heh-heh..."-Brock "Pick it up from here, Brock-o!"-Ash. This is the most hilarious part. It took me five minutes to calm down. #10: Christmas Medley (whole cast): "You may catch a Pokemon you want on Christmas!..."-Brock. "This one is my favorite!"-Ash. Ash, I can't argue with you on this one. I really agree! Karaoke versions: Pretty cool! (You just gotta learn the words first!)

Pikachus Roasting Over An Open Fire...,
By
This review is from: Pokemon: Christmas Bash (Audio CD)
Quite possibly the last English Pokemon CD release, Pokemon Christmas Bash isn't quite a bash, but fans will find a few tracks they will enjoy, while other tracks may make them cringe. For the most part, the characters do a good job of singing, aside from Prof. Oak, who sings Track 2. The first track is the opening track for the CD, and is kinda lame, though using James's strange "oooh!"s for music cues was kinda funny. Track 3 is catchy, but it makes you feel dirty for enjoying basically bubble gum pop. Track 4 has Meowth in all his tone deaf glory complaining about Christmas. Track 5 is a duet with Brock and Misty, and though the opening dialouge is pretty corny, the actual music is pretty good. Track 6 is a brilliant track featuring Jessie, James and Meowth in their rendition of the Christmas Song. Track 7 is an amusing song that I actually found myself laughing out loud at the end of it. Track 8 is rather boring, but Track 9, a Pokemon version of "The Night Before Christmas" is pretty funny, involving all of the main characters fighting for a chance to read the poem. Track 10 is a medley of various Christmas song, Poke-fied, of course. And the final two tracks are karaoke tracks.Overall, this is a pretty nice disc for Pokemon fans, though they may enjoy this less than previous releases. Still, Tracks 6, 7 and 9 make it worth buying.

A Fresh New Twist on some Traditional Favorites,
By Rewa Marsh Schneidau (Las Vegas, Nevada USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pokemon: Christmas Bash (Audio CD)
Unlike most "Christmas" or "Holiday" CD's I own, where most tracks are merely re-makes of Classic Christmas Songs from the 40's and 50's, this CD blends some upbeat tempo tunes that are unique along with renditions of some traditional favourites with a slight Pokemon Twist. This CD features the voice over cast from the anime done in a tasteful and sometimes humourous fashion. Unlike the last two Pokemon releases from KOCH, that were merely the same songs on two CD's, this one has fresh new songs, along with some twists on some traditional holiday classics. Some people say that Pokemon in in decline, NOT so. Pokemon is just in a transition phase from being a fad to a lasting brand.

Pokemon Christmas! How fun!,

I only own three Pokemon CD's, but this is by far, my favorite of them. I can listen to this CD many times in a row for hours and hours, it's so adorable! The best tracks were:#1 Pokemon Christmas Bash (entire cast) Tracks 11 and 12 are karaoke versions of 2 and 10. The only songs I don't listen to all of the time are: #2 I'm giving Santa a Pikachu this Christams (professor oak & ash) and the karaoke tracks, because I haven't learned all the words just yet! I would reccomend this CD to anyone who like Pokemon songs, or wants to hear the best Christmas songs with different words! The Christmas medley is probably the most adored over all because it's a mess of Christmas songs we all know, only with a Pokemon twist!

Excellent Pokemon CD!,

This CD must be one of the best I've ever purchased! The songs are both upbeat and hilarious! While Ash, Misty, Brock and Team Rocket may not be the best singers in the world, if you like Pokemon and you like Christmas, this is definitely the CD for you. All of the songs are great, all of thim with at least one little twist to them, if they're not entirely original songs in the first place. The biggest thing I wanted for Christmas was Pikachu, Ash, Misty, Brock, and Team Rocket on a CD, and now, I've got them!

Happy Pokemon Christmas!,

You have GOT to get this CD. I love it! But, if you don't watch the show, you'll probably hate it. So, this CD is definately only for people who watch the show - either that or REALLY little kids. And obviously, don't buy it if you don't celebrate Christmas. Oh, and you can tell that Rachel Lillis was really nervous when they were making this CD, as she jumps into her parts a bit fast and also in "Winter Is The Coolest Time Of Year", she was supposed to be doing the voice of Misty, when she slips into Jessie. I kinda feel sorry for her. Anyway, she still did a great job singing, especially in "I'll Keep My Home In My Heart".
1. Pokemon Christmas Bash - It sounds very cool, and Pokeshippers will be delighted with Misty's Christmas wish. 2. I'm Giving Santa A Pikachu For Christmas - This stunk. It's for little kids, I think. 3. Winner Is The Coolest Time Of Year - Well, Misty sings it, and she rules! Of course I love it! I'm listening to one of her theme songs, "Cancion De Misty", right now! 4. Nobody Don't Like Christmas - This song is rather funny. I'm surprised - Meowth's voice actor is actually able to keep Meowth's voice at the same time as not making you want to cover your ears. 5. I Keep My Home In My Heart - This song is SO well done. Lillis-sama does a great job singing as Misty, and Stuart-sama is a great singer, too, as anyone who has heard him singing "Two Perfect Girls" could tell. Gymshippers should love this, as it's a duet by Misty and Brock. 6. The Christmas Song - Jessie, James, and Meowth attempt to sing the old classic. It's okay, I guess. 7. Under The Mistletoe - Pokeshippers will either love this or hate it, depending on their attitude. Basically, Misty tries to catch Ash under the mistletoe... Taylor-sama did a good job singing in Ash's voice. It's not as easy as it sounds(I know, because I sing this song a lot.) 8. Must Be Santa - Sung by Veronica Taylor, Rachel Lillis, and Eric Stuart as Ash, Misty, and Brock. Lillis-sama seems to have grown up singing differently than Taylor-sama and Stuart-sama, because she talks while everyone else sings. It sounds good, though. 9. The Night Before Christmas - I love this version! It's SO funny! 10. Christmas Medley - These are Pokemon versions of Christmas carols. Some people might be offended, as it's a bit sacrilegeous. But the karaoke version is SO pretty! All in all, it's great, but if you don't watch the show, STAY AWAY! Have fun with it! -Elisabeth

Mix Christmas and Pokemon and you have one cute CD!,
By Fairly Odd Parent (Michigan, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pokemon: Christmas Bash (Audio CD)
If you consider yourself a Pokemon fan, or know somebody who is, this is a nice CD to add to your Pokemon/holiday music collection.
Some tracks of interest: 1. Pokemon Christmas Bash - Very fun song with short messages from various members of the cast; Ash, Misty, Brock and Team Rocket. I thought Misty's wish to Santa for one dance with Ash was particularly sweet. 6. The Christmas Song - Who doesn't want to hear Team Rocket's rendition of 'Merry Christmas to You'? Although I must admit I was disappointed in that Jessie and James should've been singing their lines as opposed to simply speaking them. Meowth was singing, however, and didn't sound half bad! 7. Under the Mistletoe - Ash and Misty fans, take note! This is a song you'll want to hear! I have found this one can get stuck in your head and not leave for a long while. Well, it did for me, anyway. The only tracks I found myself skipping over were 2, 5, and the Karaoke versions of two of the songs. Overall an entertaining hear that may just cheer you up, should the holiday season be bogging you down with stress or you're simply finding it difficult to get into the spirit. Displaying the normal wit and cleverness of the show (particularly in 'Christmas Medley' and 'The Night Before Christmas'), this is the last US release CD featuring the Pokemon cast to my knowledge (as of this writing). Personally, I look forward to making listening to this a new holiday tradition. Maybe you can too!

Well...,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pokemon: Christmas Bash (Audio CD)
It was okay. I expected a little more from Pokemon, but it was as I said before, okay.1.Pokemon Christmas Bash: It was kind of cheesy. It would have been better if they hadn't have used James "oooh" while singing it. The "Squ,Squ,Squirtle" and "Pika, Pika" were kind of cheesy fill ins. But overall, this song wasn't "Aaaah!! Take the headphones!! OFF!!" bad. |
