2.0 out of 5 stars A critical analysis
In reality, I think SOME of us have learned so much about Pokemon already that we don't need this book. I also think that the author isn't asking the right kids for his books. For example, in the first book, there was about 5 pages citing kids arguing on which Pokemon is the most "powerfulest".

The question on whether this book is helpful or not is completely based on...

I really like this enthusiasim on this great Pokemon! I also like the "HEY YOU PICKACHU" bonus at the end of the chapter. Another thing I liked was a brand new code called Glitch City which I had never heard of before. I liked the glossary, because it had Mew in it. Finally, I liked the tips on the Gold and Silver, Pokemon Staduim, Pokemon Puzzle Leauge, etc... Anyhow, this book is AWESOME, EXCELLENT, GREAT, and just plain UNBELIVEBLE. On a scale from 1 to 10, my Pokemon knowledge was a 4 and after reading this book it became an 11. And, If I could, I'd give this book 6 STARS!

P.S. I also liked the "Draw Your own Pokemon Art Page" At the end of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! Finally, a book about the future of Pokemon!, May 3, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pokemon Future: The unauthorized Guide (Mass Market Paperback)
There are so many other Pokemon books that describe things about Pokemon that are out of date or when the Pokemon craze began (when there wasn't much to say), but this book DOES describe the new world of Pokemon! For example, the gold and silver versions are included in the book and so is a full descrition of Missingno. (just what I wanted!) I also like the way the book's cover and design look like the future! Since the craze of Pokemon is going away, this is pretty much one of the most updated Pokemon books!

"Pokemon Future" is definatley the best choice for someone that wants to buy a Pokemon book! The tips in this book are AWESOME! The fact that kids interview into the book is GREAT (it helps me understand the chapters better). If you like Pokemon, then this book is the book for you!

The question on whether this book is helpful or not is completely based on how much the reader actually knows already. In my opinion, his view towards Pokemon is not a strategical view, and if it is, it's not enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars UNBELIEVABLE! This is the best Pokemon book EVER!, June 6, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pokemon Future: The unauthorized Guide (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is INCREDIBLE! It tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about Pokemon! This book even has an entire chapter on Missigno, a glitch Pokemon which finally gets revealed in this book! If you want to become a Pokemon expert, read this book! This book has TONS of GREAT information on Pokemon, such as Pokemon puzzle leauge, Pokemon Stadium, the Gold and Silver versions, a list of every Pokemon, a complete unbelievably up-to-date glossary, a missingno chapter (as said before), and a "Hey you Pikachu" bonus at the end of the missigno chapter. That isn't all to this GREAT BOOK! There's also info on a new glitch called "Glitch City". I was AMAZED when I saw Glitch City on my Gameboy! Read this book and you will find out how to get Glitch City! Even more, there is an art page at the back of the book that allows you to draw your favorite Pokemon, and throughout the whole book are interviews from kids who know Pokemon best! I think "Pokemon Future" is the GREATEST POKEMON BOOK out there because it has so much information!! I think of all the Pokemon books out there, this is the one to choose!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, January 28, 2005
This review is from: Pokemon Future: The unauthorized Guide (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a brilliant book full of information on Pokémon, which is very helpful. I especially like the kid's opinions. Some people on the reviews are criticising the book - a) about it being out-of-date or b) just plain bad. In response to it being out of date, I have "Pokémon Fever" also made by him, which talks about Pokémon Yellow just being released! But it still has a darned good method for getting Pokémon cards and paper dried out easily and loads of Pinball and Snap tips! Just because you might be reading it a year or more after it was released doesn't mean it's out of date - it's like you reading a 1996 Pokémon magazine and saying "But Pokémon Red/Blue were released 9 years ago! This magazine is out of date" - books don't automatically renew themselves! Also, a lot of people are saying this book is really bad and it's pretty safe to say that most of you are adults. This book is aimed for kids if you didn't know, so your views are sure to be different, and looking at the rest of the reviews I can see kids love it :o) Maybe you adults should try reading and rating some adults books instead of rating books clearly marked for kids, because we kids and teens all think the books are brilliant! I hope Hank Schlesinger continues making good books like this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's still a good book even 2 years later, December 1, 2003

This review is from: Pokemon Future: The unauthorized Guide (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a really good book. People shouldn't get mad at it because at the time the ruby and sapphire versions weren't out and Pokemon Stadium 2 wasn't out yet either--they aren't in the book. New versions and new games are always being made. But for those playing the Gold or Silver versions or the first Pokemon Stadium, I highly recommend that you buy this book. I found the reviews helpful, and it had lots of facts about glitches that I never knew about. I hope a sequal to the series (How to become a Pokemon Master, Pokemon Fever) will come out so it will include the newer Pokemon versions and newer editions of the card game. But like I said, very good for the Gold and Silver versions (especially since it has a list of every Pokemon 1-251), and it also has a pretty good glossary for those who don't know a lot about Pokemon. This is at the top of the list in terms of good Pokemon books.

I was AMAZED at this great book! It has a funny insight on Pokemon! Not many books have information on Missingno, and not many books have as good a Gold and Silver chapter! This is an AWESOME choice for the Pokemon Fan! I LOVED IT! (And it's not stupid.)

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is TERRIFIC!! Buy this book!, June 3, 2002

This review is from: Pokemon Future: The unauthorized Guide (Mass Market Paperback)
This is probably the BEST Pokemon book EVER CREATED! I read another review that said it was "awful" and "stupid". In fact, it is just the opposite: it is superb, with tons of up-to-date information! It's even got interviews with kids, which almost no Pokemon book has! Pokemon Future has FANTASTIC guides on the Gold/Silver versions and Pokemon Stadium and it has an UPDATED glossary with over 70 Pokemon words (this is VERY helpful for those who don't know a lot on Pokemon.) Plus to make a good book better, its got LOTS of information on the Pokemon Puzzle leauge, the Pokemon TV show and trading cards, a complete list of all 251 Pokemon, a chapter on the glitch Pokemon Missingno, helpful tips on "Hey you, Pikachu" starting on page 191, AND a page in the back of the book to draw your favorite Pokemon! A book couldn't get much more informative about Pokemon than THIS one! I recommend you BUY this book!

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful!!!!!!!!!!, May 22, 2002
This review is from: Pokemon Future: The unauthorized Guide (Mass Market Paperback)
It is so awful that it only gives you tips by things you would already know. It shows you stupid qestions that you don't need. all it shows you the basics and stupid stuff that you could already know. Sorry if I'm using "stupid" so much it's just so useless. The only thing is useful is the checklist.
I recomend do not buy it or you would waste your money big time.
