5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Pokemon Book
This strategy guide, just like it's predecessor, is the ultimate guide for the newly released and highly anticipated pokemon game of the year. This has everything a new or veteran trainer needs to find. For example it shows when certain pokemon evolve, how to get the new evolutions of the old pokemon, what level they learn new moves, and item locations. Also the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Thanks for making me write a review Amazon.com
This item is exactly what it claims to be, a guide for Pokemon Gold and Silver edition. The best part about it is the details on who will attack you and what they'll attack you with. If you are still playing this game, I say give up as it is basically impossible to complete your Pokedex because Mew has to be given to you via a special code from Nintendo. This game has...

Also the locations of the rare pokemon in the game and how to beat the gym trainers to win the badges to get into the Shock League. I own the Japanese version of this game but ever since i got the guide everything has been much clearer now. I love this guide and would reccomend it to anyone who needs help with the game

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Best, October 20, 2000
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version - Official Trainer's Guide (Paperback)
I Don't Really Have an atraction to the Pokemon Game all that much so I really didn't think anybody could top a Prima strategy guide, like they made for Red, Blue, and Yellow. I Personally have to say its a very good thing to have and to use if you aren't a person who is too good with Video Games because this outlines every Detail for Both new Versions of the game and they know the type of information we gamers want. I was impressed by the fact that they told you close to everything you need to know without giving away the ending that was important, they always do that in those other crumy strategy guides except prima and this one. I have trusted Prima for help throughout the years, but if Bradygames comes out with another strategy guide and I have the game i am sure to buy it. If you need help just check this book for all the essential needs and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some pros, Some cons, November 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version - Official Trainer's Guide (Paperback)
I got it after I was half way through Silver. It tells you almost every thing you need to know. Although it doesnt tell you some names and stuff needed to evolve them, it is still better than Prima's. The other con is that it only shows you Johto maps, not the new Kanto ones. I wanted the Kanto maps cause there all changed every where . The real cool part about the one i got is that it is a COLLECTOR'S EDITION, which means it has a side with shiny Silver with Lugia, and the back shiny Gold with Hou-oh

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost the Best, November 9, 2000

This review is from: Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version - Official Trainer's Guide (Paperback)
I got this book to go along with my new pokemon silver game. It really is a great guide. It has pokemon information and great chapters. The only problem is that it gives away the ending. It told me all the secrets so it really wasn't fun to find them out on my own. I recommend the Versus Guide for Pokemon Gold/Silver. It doesn't give away secrets and is a little bit more in depth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Pokemon Gold/Silver Guide out there, June 26, 2001
This review is from: Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version - Official Trainer's Guide (Paperback)
Boy was I angry. I couldn't find a decent strategy guide. I was looking through amazon then going out to book stores to flip through the guides. Prima guide? Not enough info. Pokemon Gold & Silver Official Pokedex? Not good maps. Just when I thought I was stuck, I came across Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version : Official Trainer's Guide. I flipped through the book, looking at every detail. I purchased it and brought it home. I am so glad I did. This book's maps are great, has detailed information on every trainer and every move, TM, HM, map, Gym Leader and evolution. It even has a map of the whole Pokemon World at the end. Highly Reccomended for people who are just starting to play Pokemon Gold+Silver. It also told me what pokemon only exist and gold and not silver and vice-versa. I love it.

This game has wasted copius amounts of my time but this guide is good if you want to attempt to beat the Elite Four and the Champion.

3.0 out of 5 stars Its an OK guide, January 12, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version - Official Trainer's Guide (Paperback)
I bought this book thinking that it was going to answer all my questions on the game and even the ones that i didnt have. The maps are good, and the guide part is average. They have discriptions on SOME of the pokemon(vague discriptions). The worst part about this is that it lacks a pokedex. It makes you wonder why the guide for the older game came with one of the best pokedexes. It includes the pokemons strengths, weaknesses, moves, evolutions, TMs, HMs, and stats. This strategy guide doesn't even contain a complete listing of all the pokemon. I don't know why people gave it such high ratings because I found it just as lacking as the prima guide. It doesn't have that much to offer.
