4.0 out of 5 stars It's real, just be careful
Despite what most of the reviews state, this IS real. But it is NOT legal for play in any game of Pokemon TCG. Here's the facts about it:

1) It was available multiple times as a promotional giveaway:

Despite what most of the reviews state, this IS real. But it is NOT legal for play in any game of Pokemon TCG. Here's the facts about it:

1) It was available multiple times as a promotional giveaway:

2005 at the Nintendo World Store for those who played the Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness demo.

2006 at Space Center Houston as part of the 10th Anniversary Celebration.

2006 at E3 as a very limited distribution later that year.

2) It's large, like the box topper promotional cards. Therefor it is NOT legal in any official events and can't even be placed in a standard deck.

I've been collecting Pokemon for nearly 12 years and like to keep all releases well documented, as I do with other TCG products I collect. Though this is not a standard Pokemon card (it is rather large, has insane stats and is not tournament legal) it's a pretty cool collector's item giving a glimpse into the importance of Shadow Lugia in it's respective game.

I can not vouch for the legitimacy of the product each individual vendor sells, but the product itself is real and does exist. Just make sure you know what you're buying.

This is fake there was no shadow Lugia at E3 plus 1000 attack. The only card that has legit 1000 attack is zoroack. it has 500 HP and 1000 Attack [it cant be used in a real deck or in game] so yeah fake

IT IS FAKE! besides if it wasn't fake it would be to boring to play with because you would win all the time (for a pokemon to be real its attack and HP has to be less than 300) it sucks i hate it

2.0 out of 5 stars Yes, this card is fake. But you should know that already., June 20, 2011

This Shadow Lugia card has 300 HP. The most HP I have seen for any legit Pokemon card is 200 for a Wailord. That card had other disadvantages like a retreat cost of four energies. 300 is a lot more than 200, and there are no real disadvantages. Moreover, the "Shadow Storm" attack does ONE THOUSAND damage. The most damage I have seen done by any legit attack was 200 by the Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres card (a single card), and even that card I don't think you are allowed to use in tournaments or anything. 1,000 damage is a joke, an insult to the whole card game. For four psychic energies, an attack should do about 60-80 damage. The main reason this card is obviously a fake - and not a very convincing fake, either - is that the artwork is lifted directly from the regular Lugia card from Unseen Forces. Granted, it's cool artwork, but many people on the internet are very skilled at creating Pokemon fan art. If you are going to create a Pokemon card, even if only for you and your friends' personal enjoyment, please put more effort into it. And if you are going to sell it on Amazon, for your own dignity's sake, you might as well just tell us that it's a fake.

I would not recommend spending over $10 or $20 for any kind of single Pokemon card, and if you are, you should make sure it is legit first. I will tell you up front that this one is not.

My son wanted this card becuase of it's size and HP's. He loves the card and was very excited to get it. Although, the price was a little high, it was worth the excitement and joy my 7 year old boy gets from it! Children grow up way too fast now days and grow out of toys quickly onto bigger things like cell phones and cars so I guess, it is not that bad. Not much of an eductional value since no Pokemon card has any thing except the information on the card which might be slightly educational. If your child loves Pokemon, he will love this card!

The shadow lugia is real it does 1,000 damage and has 300 hp. The shadow lugia is real but it is huge and not for battling or trading and when I got it it came with a plastic case which i thought was a really good idea!
