4.0 out of 5 stars English Audio with English Subtitles.
Even though the description says Subtitled, this does NOT mean that it has the Japanese audio. It is the English Dub, with subtitles in English that you can turn on and off - Just like Box 1. So they really should be called "CAPTIONS" and not "Subtitles", but it since it says 'english subtitles' on the back of the box, that's how Amazon describes it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Set that Could Help Future Poke-Fans!, August 23, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pokemon Master Quest Collector's Box Set: Quest 2 (DVD)
Though there are better Pokemon seasons, Master Quest (Pokemon season 5) is by far the best Pokemon-Johto season! The season starts off the typical Pokemon-Johto story but picks up, especially by the second half, and everything gets better from the story to the animation (which almost goes up to par with the movies' animation). Finally after three LONG seasons we finally get to see Ash compete in the Johto League, along with some SERIOUS changes to the show, many you'll never expect if you haven't seen the show yet.

Though I wouldn't exactly recomend this box to non-fans, I can't stress it enough for fans to get it. One, the price is pretty low for an anime box set (though Amazon.Com gives us little to no detailed info on what the box contains as far as disks and episodes). Two, the series itself is worth the money, and above all, Three; it's BILINGUAL! How many years have Poke-fans awaited for the Japanese version of Pokemon to be released? A word to the wize; whether MQ is your favorite or least fave Pokemon season, this box could determine future releases for the Japanese version of Pokemon. We figure if this box does well, 4Kids, Viz, and perhaps Miramax and WB may decide to release more Japanese versions of Pokemon in the future, perhaps either in special Japanese-only boxes of the first four seasons and future Advanced Generation DVDs or even the past six movies and the seventh one most likely to be released in America next spring. Nothing's definate, but depending on how well this set does, it could determine future releases of Pokemon...especially for the uncut Japanese version.

Overall, this box is a must for Poke-fans. I wish Amazon.Com would stop being lazy and let us know more on it, but as long as it does turn out to be bilingual like they say, than it's highly worthwhile. Both the English and Japanese versions are exceptional and feature talents from other popular animes, but the Japanese version does offer much more and you'll get a better (and perhaps more mature) understanding of Pokemon from it. Whether this box does determine future Japanese Pokemon releases in the US or not, it's still worthwhile and a most-get. It's about time Pokemon got bilingual treatment like every other anime out there, and if all goes well, this might not be the only bilingual thing for Pokemon for the future. We'll see, but buy this box, if not for the good cause of the Japanese version, just for the sheer enjoyment of Pokemon itself will make it worthwhile!

I don't actually own this set but upon looking into buying it I am upset to find there are no episode listings, not even in the reviews. So based on the Master Quest 1 box set review in which they listed episodes I am assuming that Master Quest 2 contains the following episodes.

533- As Clear as Crystal

534- Same Old Song and Dance

535- Enlighten Up!

536- Will The Real Oak Please Stand Up?

537- Wish Upon A Star Shape

538- Outrageous Fortunes

539- One Trick Phony!

540- I Politoed Ya So!

541- Beauty is Skin Deep

542- Fangs for Nothin'

543- Great Bowls of Fire!

544- Better Eight Than Never

545- Why Wynaut!

546- Just Add Water

547- Lapras Of Luxury

548- Hatch Me If You Can

549- Entei At Your Own Risk

550- A Crowning Achievement

551- Here's Lookin' At You Elekid!

552- You're A Star, Larvitar!

553- Address Unknown!

554- Mother Of All Battles

555- Pop Goes The Sneasel

556- A Claim To Flame!

557- Love Pokemon Style

558- Tie One On!

559- The Ties That Bind

560- Can't Beat The Heat!

561- Playing With Fire

562- Johto Photo Finish

563- Gotta Catch Ya Later!

564- Hoenn Alone!

Please write a review correcting me if this is wrong as it is based on another review. I have yet to see these episodes as I only watched the Indigo League episodes as a kid but when those came out recently in three Box Sets at such good prices I was happy to reconnect with my childhood. Now I started looking into the show again and these episodes look like they may be good too, I never knew Ash finally finished a match with Gary and kind of want to see it.

The Master Quest is a great series in the Pokemon movies. but then again I just love pokemon. It is the best thing ever. if your have any age kid and want them to watch a fun and non-violent show, then this is the one, or even if you have a huge pokemon fan (ME) then this would make their day. any further questions please email me at raichuan@pokemonvillage.com

Pokémon!

No time to question my moves

I stick to the path that I choose

Me and my friends are gonna do it right

You'll never see us run away from a fight

To be a master is my dream,

All I've got to do is believe

(And I believe)

I've got a chance to win

I'm on my way to victory

Pokémon!

I can be a Champion if I just believe

I'm on a Master Quest

Master Quest!

I want the whole world to see

I believe!

I'm gonna be the very best,

'Cause all I've got to do is believe in me.

I believe

Pokémon!

I'm on a Master Quest

I want the whole world to see

No time to question my moves

I stick to the path that I choose

Me and my friends are gonna do it right

3.0 out of 5 stars not worth adding to my collection, October 11, 2008

I was considering on buying this and other box sets of pokemon for my collection, but sadly they only come in English Dubs. I've already seen the episodes in both English and Spanish on TV and I am only interested in versions that include the original japanese voice / sound tracks.

The box art is nice and all, but in my opinion and I'll emphasize on this: for a true collector's box set, it MUST include the original language (you wouldn't like listen to shakespeare's masterpieces or Mr. Bean speak in spanish either, would you?)

Anyway, if you just want a nice box set with the English Dubbed / Voices and english captions, then this is for you.

But, if you want a box set that includes the original jp lang and true subs and truly add to an anime collector's video library, keep looking.

Hopefully amazon will have it in a near future.
