2.0 out of 5 stars well, at least it had cute little animals in it, June 26, 2001

This review is from: Pokemon - The Sisters of Cerulean City/Poke-Friends (Vol. 3-4) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The Sisters of Cerulean City and Pokefriends are the third and fourth volumes in the never ending pokemon t.v. series. It could actually be good if it actually had a plot or some interesting events in it. It starts out with Ash, Brock, Misty, and Pikachu arrive in Cerulean City. For some strange reason, Misty seems not to like Cerulean City and dissapears for a while. When Ash challanges the three gym leading sisters of Cerulean City, they can't battle him because their pokemon are still weak from their last battle, and then Misty reappears. It turns out Misty is also a gym leader at Cerulean City, and she battles Ash. And as soon as Ash is about to loose, Team Rocket shows up and sucks all of the water out of the gym. Ash beats them with Pikachu... same as usual, boring, and Misty's sisters give him the badge. (does this guy ever really win against anyone but team rocket??)

Pokefriends is about Ash catching his Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. All of them were abandoned, and Ash catches them, of course. First, he gets Bulbasaur, who is a bodyguard for an abandoned pokemon group session. Then, he gets Charmander, who Brock saved, but gave to Ash, like that would really happen. And last, he catches the Squirtle, who kidnapps him and his friends, and injure Pikachu. But, don't worry, in the end, Ash catches the Squirtle and everything turns out great, just like in the real world. These movies are incredibly stupid, but they'll keep little kids quiet for a while. I'm surprized these people aren't arrested for cruelty to animals. If you like sappy anime, and the repitition of the same story line over again, then pokemon is for you. But I'd rather watch Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, or Gundam Wing. But, at least this movie had cute animals in it. Two Stars for keeping little kids quiet.
