Product Description

Amazon.com

As with just about anything brandishing the Pokémon name, Pokémon Stadium is a must-have for any Pokémaniac. But this title is especially geared towards owners of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, or Pokémon Yellow for the Game Boy. Using the same battle system as the Game Boy games--think highly advanced rock-paper-scissors--Pokémon Stadium allows players to enter their Pokémon in a variety of tournaments and other battle modes, all featuring vibrant 3-D graphics and animation, as well as enhanced sounds and announcer commentary. Using the included Transfer Pak, players can use their own Pokémon from Game Boy Game Paks, or they can choose from a pool of rental Pokémon.

Pokémon Stadium isn't all battles, though. The Kids Club mode features nine cutesy minigames that make for great multiplayer fun for all ages. Gallery mode lets players take snapshots of Pokémon (similar to Pokémon Snap), which can then be printed out as stickers at your local Pokémon Snap station.

While Pokémon Stadium doesn't require that you already have any Game Boy version of Pokémon, players won't be able to access two of the best features of the game without one. Pokémon Lab allows players to view, store, and better organize the data on their Game Paks, as well as trade Pokémon with another player (which requires an additional Transfer Pak, sold separately). GB Tower allows gamers to play their Game Boy Pokémon cartridge on the Nintendo 64. --Joe Hon

Pros:

  • Tried-and-true Pokémon battle system with enhanced graphics and sounds
  • Allows you to play your Game Boy Pokémon game on the Nintendo 64
  • Ability to manipulate data on your Game Boy Pokémon game
  • Minigames make for great multiplayer fun for all ages

Cons:

  • Not likely to win over any Pokémon holdouts
  • The Game Boy Pokémon games are a better starting point for newbies to the genre

Product Description

Pokémon Stadium lets you stage Pokémon battles in a whole new arena--on your Nintendo 64! See all 150 Pokémon execute their attacks in full 3-D, and create your own custom stickers!

Pokémon Stadium gives trainers an arena to engage in heated Pokémon battles, and offers them a ringside seat for the action. Tons of features, including support for playing your Game Boy Pokémon game through your N64, make Stadium a must-have for all Pokémon fans!

In Pokémon Stadium, you're able to battle using your most loyal Pokémon from the Red, Blue, and Yellow versions of Pokémon (sold separately). Thanks to a Transfer Pak that comes with Pokémon Stadium and plugs into the bottom of your controller, data can be transferred straight from a Game Boy cartridge to your N64.

The technical machines, attacks, and levels of your trained Pokémon are available on Pokémon Stadium, so you won't have to leave any of your favorites behind. You'll want your specially trained Pokémon to battle Stadium's toughest rivals.

There are 150 Pokémon that can be used, or "rented," in Pokémon Stadium, even if you decide not to transfer data from your Game Boy Pokémon games. (Mewtwo is never available as a rental Pokémon, but you can upload Mewtwo from your Pokémon Game Pak.) Pokémon Stadium will allow up to four players to compete in a grueling Pokémon tournament, designed to reveal which of your friends is the best Pokémon trainer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pokémon Stadium February 20, 2000

I played this game at the Pokémon 2000 Stadium Tour against Nintendo's deadly Mewtwo, grep. It has the greatest graphics I have ever seen on any Pokémon game. It is a must buy. The best part is you can upload your Pokémon from your game boy games with the transfer pack. This is truly the greatest video game ever. Even if you don't own game boy Pokémon games, you can still play with 149 rental Pokémon at level 50, all except Mewtwo and Mew. This is definitely a must buy for anyone who has even a remote interest in Pokémon.

5.0 out of 5 stars a true look at: Pokemon Stadium March 15, 2000
By A Customer
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Pokemon Stadium is another awesome Pokemon game from Nintendo. This time, instead of battling in flat 2-D graphics, you get to battle in sweet 3-D with excellent sounds and graphics. What is even better is that you can take your actual Pokemon from the Game Boy and put them on the Nintendo 64 VIA Transfer Pak which is shipped directly within Pokemon Stadium. All Pokemon players will be attracted to this game and don't think that you'll just use your lv 100 Mewtwo and fly through it. Nintendo made this so that it knows your strategy, and a little bit more. Some of the first battles are really easy but when you get deeper into it, they get as hard as heck, making it last for a LONG time. 1 to 4 players + hours of extra fun, Pokemon Stadium gets an A+

This game rocks. I saw a screenshot and the garphics are beautiful. The games will have mini-games were you can play with 4 players. It will also include a mode in which you can fight with pokemon. There will be a slot in which you can enter you Pokemon Red, Blue or yellow into, which then all the pokemon in your game will be selectable to fight with. There will be well over 200 mini games. END

This Pokemon game is the best Pokemon game of all! It's rich textures and butiful worlds make this game rock! But a really neat gadjet i like to use is called the Transfer Pack. It lets you transfer the Pokemon from your Red, Blue, or Yellow Pokemon from your Game Boy to a whole new world on your Nintendo64!

4.0 out of 5 stars great game and fun for the entire family March 7, 2000

Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game for my nephew and we ended up playing the night away. The graphics are excellent and the various modes of gameplay will keep one interested for a long time(especially if you have the gameboy games). Where the game lacks is in the sound. The sound effects sound like they are from the game boy. Most of the pokemon have pretty generic sounds. This was the real let down of the game. One would think that Nintendo would have wanted to have put more effort into the sounds but oh well. Overall the game is fun at any age level and there are various other modes instead of just fighting for those parents who are worried about their kids duking it out all the time. I would highly recommend this game to anyone, especially you wild and crazy pokemon fans.

This is the perfect pokemon game for any pokemon trainer just dying to get their hands on a very good, new pokemon game. You can upload your pokemonm from your gameboy games with the help of a transfer pack that comes with the game. Even if you don't have pokemon red, blue, or yellow, it is awesome because you can rent level 50 pokemon (#'s 1-149) A must buy for any pokemon lover.
