Not a bad addition to the Pokémon CDs..., July 12, 2000
This review is from: Pokemon World [ECD] Collector's Edition (Audio CD)
This CD only features three tracks, but before you begin moaning, just stop right there. Anyone familiar with animé knows that a lot of CDs are small "mini-CDs" often featuring only three or four tracks, at a far lower price, just like this CD.
The first of these songs is the full version of the second Pokémon opening theme in the US - "Pokémon World". I like this song, and I prefer it to the first one (found on 2BA Master), because I've heard the first one SO many times it's become somewhat boring...
The second song on this is the US version of "Pikachu's Winter Vacation", which was a short cartoon in Japan. This OVA has not yet been dubbed, but this song has been made. It's quite similar to the original, although it is very short (less than two minutes), and it isn't really THAT good. Not compared to the quality of 2BA Master, anyway.
The third and final track is an Instrumental version of "Pikachu's Winter Vacation". I love karaoke (most of the Japanese Pocket Monsters songs have a karaoke version so you can sing along), but this Instrumental version actually adds new instruments to the song, which spoils it. A karaoke version should just remove the words. Still, it's quite good fun to sing along to.
Overall, this is a good CD to own if you like Pokémon, as the first track makes up the value. I got this free with the ECD version of 2BA Master, so you might want to get them together.
Also, some free stuff for your computer is included on this CD. The cut-down video of Pokémon World (as seen at the start of the animé series two) is present, as is a Screen Saver and various backgrounds. However, this stuff isn't really that well done, and was basically just thrown on at the last minute.
If you are a fan of Pokémon, get this CD....

For anyone who lives in a Pokemon World, March 9, 2001
This review is from: Pokemon World [ECD] Collector's Edition (Audio CD)
You have to realize this is a CD single not a full length album. There are only two songs (Pokemon World and Pikachu's Vacation), and one instrumental. Pokemon World is a catchy enough tune and was the shows second theme song. Pikachu's Vaccation is a bouncy and light hearted romp and in my opinion the better of the two. I only wish it lasted longer. It would be hard to recomend this disc based on these two short songs, but the CD-ROM elements add greatly to the value. You get 3 different wallpapers for your PC and a fun screensaver too, as well as a preview of Pokemon The Movie. Another reviewer said these wallpapers were too basic, but I like the unclutered backgrounds and large characters that appear on them. The colors are bright and the images crisp. Loading these elements was easy and quick and I have had them on my computer for quite some time now. I would've given 5 stars if two or more songs were included and/or there were more interactive elements added. But then the CD probably wouldn't be this cheap.
Bottom line. If you're a Pokemon fan you MUST have this disc. You'll be hard pressed finding better Pkemon wallpapers and screensavers anywhere else and you get two fun and catchy Pokemon tunes as well. GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!!

alright, February 26, 2000
This review is from: Pokemon World [ECD] Collector's Edition (Audio CD)
Its alright, but they need more songs. I like the two songs and the instrumental version but I thought that they only put the instrumental stuff because they needed another song. But its pretty good for what they do have. I suggest thinking about it really hard before buying because pikachu's vacation isn't that great of a song and you can hear the theme song when you watch pokemon on weekends.
