Good soundtrack but not 100% satisfying.,

The songs are good and fun to listen to. They are the best of the best from all the songs that have come out over the past ten years. The only problem is that some of the songs are really short.

My daughters and I love to listen and sing along to the 18 songs on this CD. Many of the songs will be familiar if you watch the shows and movies. This was the first Pokemon CD I've bought and it was a good choice because it has many fun & upbeat songs that we all enjoy.

The MP3 Album does NOT match the CD,

Just so you know, many of the reviews referring to the CD are NOT for this MP3 album, which appears to be both a subset of the songs from the CD, and possibly even variations. CD track 17 "Stay Together" does not match MP3 album track 12 of the same title. Both albums are mostly the same and are good, but be warned of the differences.

One of the greatest compiled Pokémon albums since the first! Not only does it contain the opening themes for all but 1 of the seasons, but it also contains the pokéraps & image songs! The only downside to this album is the lack of full length opening songs. The only themes that are full length are the first Pokemon theme and the Johto theme; the rest being the TV size and running for only a minute (or so). Awesome album nonetheless.

I bought this for my son (age 7) and it is his favorite cd to listen to...he is a Pokemon fanatic. It has all of the theme songs (except the new, Diamond and Pearl)and that is what he loves about it. We have other Pokemon cd's as well, but this one is one of the best!

Medley of the years,

Pokémon X: Ten Years of Pokémon is, essentially, the "best of" in music since Pokémon was introduced. Some of the songs have already been released on CD, and only a few are never-before-heard, but the CD is still worth the wait.
The bulk of the CD contains the theme songs for each season of Pokémon so far, with my only concern being the length of these songs. Most of the themes are as short as they were in their respective season, and I know that extended versions are out there for most of the theme songs...but they are still great songs, short and all. For anyone interested in Pokémon, this is a great buy. It's more of an expansion pack of songs then a complete CD, but it does have that fun appeal, which should be the goal for any CD.

Good CD - but the digital MP3 album is missing 5 songs!,

Buy the CD, not the digital MP3 album, if you want all the songs. The MP3 album does not have 5 of the songs: Hoenn PokeRap, Best Friends, Believe In Me, This Dream and Unbeatable.

I grew up with the Pokemon series. Waaay back from a kid to my teenage years. I am still following the series from the games point of view. The cartoon series has gone downhill, alongside the change of voice actors and plot lines.
The original 150 episodes or so was and still is enjoyable. And their theme songs were catchy. Compared to the music used nowadays for westernized anime/toons (by Fox/Nickelodeon/CN whatever). And most importantly I still remember the songs clearly TODAY. Even traces of the pokerap are stuck in my head. This collection doesn't have the movie remixes of the theme songs, but is a good update on the original soundtrack that came out in 1999-ish. I always like the hopeful/enlivening sound to the first few theme songs. Enjoy, cheesey but SO GOOD / V

A good purchase, arrived before the estimated date so had to go get it at the post office. It has all the theme songs of Pokemon before the series went bad with Diamond and Pearl. I was sad that when the CD was over that Best Friends hadn't played. The Best Friends song they have listed is different from the one most people know - the one from Kanto/Johto, so I was disappointed at that but I bought the CD entirely for the theme songs, it's a shame none other than the first and third have a full version. Battle Frontier has a full version too but there's not much to it.
It's good but there are so many song that could've been here but to my knowledge they're already included in other Pokemon soundtracks. This is called Ten Years of Pokemon so I assume that only the songs were to be included as they account to all those years. And the theme songs are what I bought it for and I am very pleased and will listen to it for many years to come. I highly recommend to anyone who believes they are a true fan or anyone who's been a longtime follower of this wonderful series. Pokemon is for all ages so everyone can enjoy, I'm 15 ;) However, after recently listening to the japanese songs I have to say that they're much better than the english equivalents but not as awesome. MasterQuest and Johto League Champions forever!

10 Poke-years,
This review is from: Pokemon X: Ten Years of Pokemon (Audio CD)
This CD contains all the season theme songs, as well as 9 other Poke-songs, including the beautiful "Together forever". Considering the title I'm a little surprised they didn't include "Pikachu's goodbye", "What kind of Pokemon are you?" and "Viridian city", but they are on other CDs, so no biggie.
A nice collection of Pokemon songs, that I enjoy often. Recommended if you like this music. |
