I really enjoy Lady Gaga's beats. I think it is very mainstream but she is just a breath of fresh air. I feel like dancing everytime this song comes on. She reminds me of Kylie Minogue. Very chic, very hip, very europop.

Lady GaGa's "Poker Face" is the follow-up to the popular "Just Dance." While "Just Dance" is a certifiable guilty pleasure hit, "Poker Face" is in a dubious league of its own. The opening,carnival-like chords are reminiscent of Britney Spears' "Circus." In the chorus, Lady GaGa sounds like Fergie belting out "bump up the base." Really. I thought this was a Black-Eyed Peas song, but slightly better than average.

"Poker Face" works as a dancefloor song. It's catchy and has a beat. Whether it endures as a guilty pleasure remains in the cards.

What caught my ear was the melody of the line, "Can't read my, can't read my, no he can't read my poker face." Once I found myself singing along to the only line that I knew, I was hooked. I had to pay attention to the rest of the song. That was then. Now I know all the lyrics. I love this song. It comes with a danceable beat, fun production, and catchy melody. What more do you need in a successful dance pop song? Her strong voice is a bonus.

This woman can sing her own "wild style" or she can wail with the biggest music stars alive today (Tony Bennett) and still come out like a real pro! I do love listening to Ms. Ga !

It took me awhile, but Lady Gaga's music has hooked me! Her unique style and catchy tunes have propelled her success. I really like this song and will be looking for remixes.

I guess one would have to have been a Poker Player to understand a bit:

The "Mum mum mum mah" is indicative of a hidden good hand at Poker, hence the word Poker Face (so no one catches on).

And, what is the object of a Poker Game? To win. Now, in love, there are no winners and losers. So, what are we winning here?

Poker is said to be a game of skill. And with this song, a representation of "Game On" ensues. "She's got to love nobody" is an indication of the game at play.

You capture your opponent "I'll get him hot, show him what I've got", leads to a quest well completed, with perhaps a purse of cash on the side.

Get the man, get the cash, then say sayonara for the next game.

Its a good song (which is why I downloaded it). It is also popular in many casinos (which is where I heard it) - and the above can explain that popularity.

Of course, music is in the ears of the listener.

This is one of my favorite songs! It has a catchy beat, and the music video is so cool! I love Lady GaGa's music. Good song to dance to.

First heard this song on youtube, the tune just so catchy. The song made me buy the ablume, the Fame. Both Just Dance, and Poker Face are great singles. Personally, I just think Poker Face is even a bigger hit than Just Dance. And, I think the music video is better done as well. Go GaGa!!

After the cymbal-crashing, International #1 hit Just Dance, you're probably expecting some very solid, but somewhat standard dance music ... And that's exactly what you're going to get.

It's very strange to me that on an album such as hers (go get it by the way, it's top notch) jam-packed with number ones, she would pick this single for a sophomore single. It's more like filler. While (once again) it's solid enough; if you want to hear some top notch Lady Gaga you'd be better off with Paparazzi, or Just Dance, where she's shows her vocal range more.

About the song: She sings most of the song in a lower register, which is god, because as much as I love her, her range is not going to turn Mariah green anytime soon. However the Producer of this song (Red One?) keeps chiming in with this bizarre mu-mu-mu-ma sound effect which does nothing for the song. The Song is very chorus-heavy, (the words "He'll read my, he'll read my, no he can't read my poker face" take up 1' 45" of this song alone, I counted) which is actually a good thing, as the chorus is the only part of this song that stands out. The Synthesizer is coursing up and down and her voice mixes really well with it. It's fun to dance to, but it won't rock your World.

If you didn't like Lady Gaga before, or you just don't like Dance Music categorically, this song will fall flat in your eyes. But if you're looking for something to groove to, feel welcome to sample this song by Pops up and coming Diva.

Not being deeply connected to the music world, I had never even heard of "Lady GaGa" before Pandora cheekily popped this song up into my play list. The song was, for me at least, instantly addicting - the beat is compelling, the vocals are interesting, and the lyrics truly hilarious fun. (How can you miss with lines like "Russian roulette is not the same without a gun / and, baby, when it's love, if it's not rough it isn't fun"?) I gather that I'm not the only person who wants to hear this song over and over, and it will be a shame if it is Killed by Radio, but if you haven't heard it yet, give it a listen and see for yourself.
