Book Description

August 28, 2005
These logic puzzles bring a new element to the table: the super-hot game of poker. All the questions feature a poker setting, and transport solvers from Las Vegas to Monte Carlo, from the friendly neighborhood game to tournament play. Nothing's better for testing your powers of deduction and reasoning. Figure out how much money a player lost over several nights of play; at what age each person in a group learned the game; how many students attend the six classes given at The Five Diamonds Poker School, and who did what on the first night of a poker vacation. The puzzles range from easy to super-difficult, so whatever your level, there's a table open.

1.0 out of 5 stars Has nothing to do with poker, December 1, 2005
This review is from: Poker Logic Puzzles (Paperback)
This is a book of logic puzzles - the ones that tell you that six people named Alex, Bob, Carmen, etc. ordered six different flavors of ice cream, and you have to figure out who ordered which flavor.

They are nominally poker-related in that they use things like six different poker hands as the variables you have to match to the six players from the clues, or five different poker shows on TV, and you have to match them to the fictional channel number they air on.

All of the problems are completely generic, and could be changed to ice cream flavors or favorite colors or whatever else without changing the fundamental problems. The book has nothing to do with poker.
