5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Kids and Adults
This book is an excellent introduction to Poland, covering numerous integral topics of the country, with clear writing and enjoyable photographs for children and enough factual information to sustain an adult's interest.

1.0 out of 5 stars COLD, HORRIBLY DEMEANING TO POLES & CHRISTIANS
Nothing more than an anti-Polish hate book. What is truly tragic is that this "hate" writing is directed at school children. Very upsetting and confusing. If Paul Grajnert has no knowledge of Poland, he should not write about it. There is a word for people who write using "horrible" generalizations against an entire people or race. I'll let you, the reviewer, figure out...

If Paul Grajnert has no knowledge of Poland, he should not write about it. There is a word for people who write using "horrible" generalizations against an entire people or race. I'll let you, the reviewer, figure out that word. It begins with a "B." However, Grajnert's book gets an "F-."

1.0 out of 5 stars Demeaninig, Cold, Hurtful Anti-Catholic, Anti-Polish, June 26, 2007
Paul Grajnert is consistent in falsely demeaning and villifying a Poland that has suffered so horribly at the hands of the Nazis and Soviets. Grajnert mentions absolutely "nothing" of how Christian Poles have amazingly endured partitions, wars, Nazi death camps, and brutal occupations of despots like Hitler and Stalin. This is suppose to be a book about Poland, and not about paul Grajnert's "hate" of Poland. What is most tragic about Grajnert's writing about Poland is that he aims his "hate" at children. A very disturbing, confusing and upsetting diatribe. This book just takes many steps backwards for a better world.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT FOR CHILDREN OR ANYONE!!! AUTHORS ARE ANTI-POLISH AND DEMEANING OF POLAND! REVIEWERS ARE CORRECT., April 9, 2009
Grajnert and Heale write a horrific anti-Polish book disguised as something nice for students - IT IS ANYTHING BUT!!! This book is written to fool students and taechers as well to order it. DON'T order anything with Grajnert or Heale name on it. These 2 are the top Polish defamers out there. And, yes, the other 1 star reviewer is very correct,i.e., Grajnert and Heale aim their hatred of Poles at children, who cannot yet put history in context. Grajnert and Healy exploit the young students with their narrowminded bigotry and hatred of all things Polish - Avoid these two authors.

There are so many better books out: Descubramos Polonia/Looking at Poland (Descubramos Paises Del Mundo / Looking at Countries) (Spanish Edition) in English too:Looking at Poland (Looking at Countries) and P Is for Poland (World Alphabets) and Forgotten Holocaust: The Poles Under German Occupation 1939-1944Warsaw 1944: Poland's bid for freedom (Campaign) KATYN - 2 discs Set [NON-USA FORMAT, PAL, Reg.0 Import - Poland]... Full Circle: A Homecoming to Free Poland... Children of Terror also Irena Sendler: Mother of the Children of the Holocaust and Lech Walesa: Champion of Freedom for Poland (People Who Made a Difference) and so many more truthful books about Poland out there.

AVOID!!!: anything written by the Grajnerts, Jay Heale and Umaima Mulla Feroze. These 3 aim their hatred at vulnerable students.
