So last year in training for a race I was doing between 150-200 miles per week on my mtb.

I got the polar because I wanted to have a HR monitor for my gym workouts (another polar device)as well as a HR computer for my bike.
This unit does not have GPS.

I will say that the websync doesn't display in the best format but,,,, the information is there.
The computer itself.... well.. for me there was a curve to figure it all out and I had challanges setting diameter of my wheeel sets (multiple sets). The auto did not work for me as I change out my rim sets depending on the ride and they are not the same size.

I found that my information was never close to others on my ride,, (miles, speed ect) even after getting my wheel size correct.

I also found the left/right pivot button mount very cool... at first! Being on a MTB up and out of the saddle and such a lot I found I would hit it with my body and then when I would have to take my eye off the trail to get it back to the screen I wanted. (didn't like the auto scroll). Also the red button is in a bad spot because you will hit it a lot by mistake.

I would say a big complaint I had was when you stop to say take a bio break or rest and hit the red pause button.. I couldn't scroll to see say,,, how many miles I went,, ect ect. Perhaps I just didn't use it correctly.

My biggest complaint,,, polar,,,, no support... ever!... No updates to software,, no return emails and good luck trying to even find a number to call them.

I owned 2 of these (me and my wife) as well as two RS800CX for when we are in the gym or running,, ect... all have been sold on ebay and we have moved to Garmins.

End of the day this is a very nice product and might be great for you... wasn't for me though.

I have used the CS500 of Polar for several years, over 10,000 Kms, and I aboslutely recommend it. Its display is BIG so you can clearly see the numbers and its rocking feature for changing screens works just as expected.

Would have rated it higher , perhaps it just me, but as usual, Polar instructions are written as if translated from a language not native to the Earth. Device itself is what I expected. It was easy to install, although attaching the cadence magnet by wrapping tape around the crank is a little low tech. It provides all of the ride related information that I want and a bit more and it seems likely I will ultimately sort out the instructions and be able to use all of the functionality built into the device.

This is a great cycling computer big display easy to set up and use. The cadence feature has really helped me go longer and faster. for the money with heart rate monitor this unit is a better buy than the Garmin to me because you still have to buy a heart rate monitor with the Garmin which is already $100.00 more than the Polar.

The polar CS500 works excellente, but the speed and cadence battery only last for 4 months of use and then I have to buy another piece of each one because it doesn't allows you to change the battery! The make you to buy new one of each ando the cost is 80 USD, almost the same cost of a new polar watch!
