What a disappointment in the book. It's about the size of a CD case, the bell is a cheap $0.10 metal bell like you would put on your cat's collar and I can't believe I spent $30.00. Do not buy the book. Just get the CD!

I was shocked that a $34.98 book/cd was so small and has only nine paperboard type pages of art work. The "silver bell" in this package (as in another book set and the Lionel train set that I bought) is a cheap metal chrome plated bell and in no way resembles the beautiful bell illustrated in the books and movie. Surely someone will make an exact replica before next season.
The book should be priced at no more than $18 - a typical top line CD. Of course the music is fine....but consider buying the music CD only....for a lot less money! Better, wait for a clsoe out sale on this item!

I did't find this edition of Polar Express very "deluxe"! The book itself measures only about 3 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. I "assumed", which is always a mistake, that the board book would be similar in size to the hard cover edition. I think $32.00 is a very exorbitant price for this package. I'm very disappointed, but not willing to spend the shipping costs to send it back. I would not advise you to make this purchase.

The special CD has nine pictures from the film on hard thick paper. Also a small Chistmas bell so you can beleive. It is a collectors item it you really enjoyed the film as I did. The selections are the same as the regular CD but the special CD is worth the extra cash. Get it if you can find it. I got it for $30.00. The price on Amazon is good, as you get free delivery.

I loved every song on the soundtrack. It's the cd I play most this Christmas.

I bought this for my son and he loves the cd. Not worth any more than ten bucks though. The book is tiny.

The book is just pictures from the movie with some captions. I think the book is useless, but the CD is great. The jinglebell included is small and makes more noise hitting the plastic that surrounds it than actual "bell" noise.

I just bought this at Target last night. I have to admit that if I had paid $30 for it I would have felt ripped off as well. I bought it for $10 instead. My advice is to shop Target and get a better deal or to just get the orginal if you cant get it for this price.
The CD itself I find very good and I like listening to artists from the forties, fifties and sixties singing songs.
Frank Sinatra is always a treat, as well as Bing Crosby and Kate Smith.
The book is fun and has my favorite scenes. The bell is a nice touch as well......Merry Christmas

My grandchild picked this out for me to read last night and I had almost forgotten what a wonderful book it is. It has a mystical beauty about it that you can't explain but you feel it nevertheless. The artwork is perfect just like all of Van Allsburg's books. He's my favorite children's book author. The movie is another thing. Where the book is mysterious and beautiful and somehow captures the wonder and awe of the Christmas season, I think the movie is just creepy--the addition of stereotyped ethnic characters was all contrived and wrong.

The movie and the soundtrack are just awesome. I can't wait to get the soundtrack, it will be a Christmas classic.
