I'm not a big game person but this is fun & addictive. I bought it for my husband but I've gotten more use out of it than he has. The graphics are great!

We purchased Polar Games 2 for our nephews and they love it, especially Polar Pool. We love it as adults as much as they do. It has cute animation, bonuses, and characters that make it even more fun than regular pool but every bit as challenging. We highly recommend it for all ages.

We have the first Polar Games DVD, so thought this would be fun, too. It's even better! Great challenges and visuals.

Very simple controls, high end 3D graphics, lots of depth and gameplay. This is the pinnacle of high-end casual games. These games are good enough to be premier Nintendo Wii titles (in fact, they could easily be ported and make tons of money!). The price for getting BOTH of these is also very cheap. WARNING - both are VERY addictive!!!

I'm in my fifties, and like computer games. This game is a riot. Fun to play, and fun to watch the different characters. It's challenging and keeps your interest. Enjoy!

This is a fun game. It can be good family fun, or compete with friends. I like the way the polar bear shakes his butt when he makes an eagle! I liked it so much I also purchased Polar pool and others. I recommend this game for kids to adults

I bought Polar Games 1 & 2 for my 8 year old granddaughters, because of the good reviews and the girls were intrigued by the characters. The characters are well-drawn and have great personality. The graphics are very good. But there are a limited number of games and the games themselves are repetitive. My granddaughters enjoy adventure and variety, rather than honing their skills repeating and improving the same games. After the initial couple of uses, both of these discs sit on the shelf generating absolutely zero interest. I recommend you know your players' preference in game playing before you purchase.

We bought Polar Games 2 at a store for $5 yesterday. It was not worth it. Polar Sports includes 4 games, Polar Tubing, Polar Golfer, Polar Bowler, and Penguins! This one includes 2 games, Polar Pool and Polar Golfer: Pineapple Cup. The regular price for both games are the same, priced at $19.99, but this game really should have been priced at $9.99 because there are half the games. However, we got this game at $5, but regular price should have been lower. The two games included aren't the best. Polar Pool: A lot of people like this game. It's definitely the best of the two, but not the best of the five released polar games. You use the polar bear as a ball, and try to shoot the balls into the hole. There are three modes: 8 Ball, 9 Ball and Power Pool, which is a mode with power-ups and 15 balls, I think. There are six characters and six tables that you can unlock. The characters are different, but the tables are the same. Only the background for the tables are different. The other complaint I have about the characters and the tables is that it takes a lot of work to unlock them! You can only unlock them when you are playing Power Pool. 8 Ball and 9 Ball are just two "Fun" modes. We still haven't unlocked all of them. There's also something else about playing this game online, but I haven't got that figured out yet. Tip: If you are playing 8 Ball or 9 Ball and think that the computer you are playing against is too easy to beat or too hard to beat, go to the main menu, click options, and change the "Al Difficulty Level" to easy or hard to suit your level. Polar Golfer: Pineapple Cup This game's not good. Like I said in my Polar Sports review, the first Polar Golfer was very boring. One game, 18 holes, takes 15-30 minutes. That's boring. And, if you've been playing for 15 minutes and want to stop, you can't. You have to start over from hole 1 if you want to stop. Like the first Polar Golfer, there are characters to unlock. Only characters though. I think there are more characters in this one than in the first. There are also new characters in this one, but I'm not going to spoil it for you guys... If you've played the first Polar Golfer, you should know that to unlock one character, you have to play all 18 holes and get a required amount of points while playing it, from 1,000 to 10,000. It's not THAT hard to unlock all the characters in this game. However, if you don't get the required amount of points to unlock one, you get really frustrated because you wasted 30 minutes on nothing. One time, when I was unlocking the 10,000 point character, I got stuck with 9,986... I got very frustrated... But that's another story. Also, when you are unlocking the characters, you have to play the FULL 18 holes. You need 30 minutes, and if you only have 15 minutes to play, you'll have to start over the next time you play, unless you're willing to leave the computer open the full time. Now on to the courses. In this game, I feel like the courses are more boring than the first one. There is lava in this one, and I feel like there are more mountains, that block your view. The mountains are VERY annoying. Yeah. Also, I don't know why there are ONLY 18 holes in both this one and the first Polar Golfer. Most mini golf games like this one have at least 5 courses. I don't know how this one got stuck with one. They might as well have combined the first one and this one to make one game. Tip: If you're having trouble unlocking characters, and you keep on getting 9,986 points, I have something to tell you. Go into the points rings if you are playing Championship Mode. (The rings with the money symbols on them) Look and see how many symbols are on it. Each one is worth 200 points. So if you go into a ring with 3 symbols, you get 600 points if you land on a flat surface after going into the ring! There should be at least one ring in each hole. Most rings have 3 money symbols on them. Some rings are hidden behind trees or mountains. If you miss a ring with 2-3 symbols, or a 2-3 symbol ring is off course, who cares! Go for it! Yes, you might spend two strokes getting it, but two strokes only converts into a few points when you putt the ball into the hole! You'll end up with more points if you get the ring. If a ring has 1 symbol and it's off course, don't get it. You'll end up losing points after you finish the hole. On the other hand, if you see a ring with a star or a lightning bolt off course, DONT GO FOR IT! The lightning bolt makes you go faster which can be either bad or good, and if you hit a ring with a star, the putt you just made won't count! If you don't get what I'm saying, don't read it. ;) That's enough about rings! The bottom line: This game is OK, but not that great. If you see this game for $5 or less, get it. If you see it for $5.01 or more, don't. Also, you need to be a pretty good gamer to unlock everything on both of these games, or you'll end up with 9,986 points, just like me... |
