5.0 out of 5 stars A HRM with advanced features
If this will be your first HRM, I recommend spending the extra money for the S210. The less expensive models lack backlighting and do not allow programable interval training - a feature that you may appreciate having as you progress.

3.0 out of 5 stars Polar S210 review
I have only 2 reservations with this watch. Firstly, the battery requires replacement after 18-months. A review of my training diary showed that I had used it for about 225hrs of training in this period (I don't always use my watch when running). The manual suggested that it would last 2 years, 7 days/week for an hour per day (aqpprox 700 hrs of use). Further, pushing the...

LOVE THIS PRODUCT. Although it takes a bit of reading to really understand how to use all the tools..and things like the calorie counter don't work until your heart rate is above 90, but it does work.

The manual suggested that it would last 2 years, 7 days/week for an hour per day (aqpprox 700 hrs of use). Further, pushing the 'stop' button to finish your workout doesn't always seem to deactivate the timer. Sometines several clear/hard pushes are required. Other than that it is easy to use and performs well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Polar S725X, February 1, 2008

Nice heart rate monitor, but POOR POOR service, please hope that it never breaks, because you will never get it back. I cannot believe how great the product is but how bad the company sucks. I shipped the fastest method, they received more than two weeks ago, but have not even opened the box and confirmed it has been received.

5.0 out of 5 stars completely satisfied, March 25, 2007
This review is from: Polar S210 Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Sports)
alot of my training as a rower is based around heart rate, especially in the fall. Often its the only number I can rely on when running or rowing in larger boats, so I enjoy all the functions offered. Just what I need for lots of training/ cross training

3.0 out of 5 stars HRM okay / Polar service bad, March 16, 2006

I upgraded from a very basic HR monitor to this one because it calculated calories burned, had a baseline fitness check and a logged successive workouts.

Unfortunately, it proved unreliable. After five months, the watch died, leaving me with nothing but a "memory failed" message. (For $179 I expect a longer lifespan than this.) It carries a two year warranty, so I thought I could just trade it in for a new one at the store where I purchased it. Noooo! I had to send it back to Polar for warranty repairs.

Polar said it would take 5-7 days for them to mail the watch back to me. It's now been two weeks and they are just getting around to fixing it. When it was working the HR monitor was great. Service from Polar definitely leaves something to be desired...

I love this polar watch, I do a lot of long distance running and interval training.
The only thing I do not like is the T61 (transmitter) as I can not change the battery myself so I bought a T31 (transmitter with replaceable battery) and it works great.
Great polar watch!

4.0 out of 5 stars Unit is fine but Customer Service is HORRIBLE!, December 14, 2005
This review is from: Polar S210 Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Sports)
I have had the s210 for about a yeear and have been very happy with the unit. Recently, my truck was broken into and my transmitter was stolen... I know, my falut... I placed a phone order with Polar on December 2nd (today is 12/14) and I still do not have my new transmitter. Polar's service SUCKS! They told me that they shipped the transmitter on 12/9, one full week after my order was placed. Maybe it's just me but I expect (and deserve) a higher level of customer service. Next HRM WILL NOT be a Polar.

I've been struggling to use this watch for three days now and before that I spent some time reading the manual. It's been frustrating because when I want to start my exercise, it doesn't detect my heart rate. After working up a sweat jogging in place and continuously trying to detect a pulse it finally comes up. Well, the working up a sweat was a key part of that. Because that little book about how to wear the strap (the book that I didn't think I needed to read) clearly says that the two 5 inch sensor areas of the strap have to be thoroughly wet. It even shows a picture of the strap being placed under running water. Doh! The instruction books are not much fun and very long. So here's a quick start: read sections B "How to enter settings" and C "Exercise" these are unavoidable, then THOROGHLY WET THE SENSOR AREAS OF THE STRAP, then try it out. It's a little more complicated than I need right now but maybe I'll grow into it. I wish it displayed "Time in Zone" while I'm exercising rather than saving it to a file to be accessed later. I like seeing my pulse as I exercise and modifying my pace to stay in a zone. I just have to guess at how much of my workout time was outside of the zone in order to make my in-zone goal. So far, so good.

Purchased this Polar watch from Heart Monitors USA for my wife. As soon as she saw felt it would be too complicated and sent it back without ever opening the box. When I got my credit from these guys is was $28 short of what I paid. They said this was for the shipping cost and would not be included in the refund. I was out the $28 (plus the 8 bucks I had to shell out to send it back.)So beware of these clowns taking your money if you decide you want to return the product.
