Misled,
This review is from: 7" Polaroid DPA-07046P Widescreen Portable DVD Player - Pink (Electronics)
It is too funny that I am sitting here on hold with Polaroid surfing the web trying to find out if this DVD player comes with a battery pack. Low and behold I come across this review which addresses my concern. I too bought this DVD player (2 actually) for a plane ride to Cancun leaving on Sunday. It's a shame that they list the battery time and in the manual it states that it comes with a rechargeable battery but you don't get one?!? How is that? This is complete misrepresentation. For the price you can get one with a battery pack and not have to pay an additional $40.00. Come on Polaroid you can do better than that.

My parents bought a cheap "no name" dvd player with all the bells and whistles for my 7 year old daughter. It didn't even make it through an entire movie when it over heated and died - there was no built in fan. I returned the player and decided to try this pink Polaroid model. I was very happy to feel a cool breeze coming out of the unit so I knew overheating wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, after watching one movie, the read head malfunctioned and and would just make a horrible grinding noise. I exchanged the unit for another one hoping that it would work better. This one ran the movies fine (my daughter watched 2 movies in the car during a long trip), but the headphone jacks were staticy and didn't work well with any headphones we tried. I returned this unit as well and am giving up on Polaroid.
Pros: 1) the power cord length was ample to reach the outlet in our van 2) cooling fan! 3) Speakers aren't too bad, my daughter was able to hear her movie in the car when she decided she didn't wan't to wear the headphones. 4) Pink color was a hit with my daughter cons: 1) The picture quality isn't great, but side to side visibility is good if you have more than 1 person trying to watch the screen. 2) The design for the car mount bag is bad. In order to change the DVD, you have to remove the headphones and power cable, then physically remove the entire unit from the bag (which isn't easy because it was a tight fit) 3) My daughter found the behind the head headphones uncomfortable. 4) As noted by others - NO BATTERY If you are lucky enough to get a unit without any problems and don't need a battery, this could be a good one to consider.

it did indeed have the battery, and the cost was $30 less than listed here (and it's listed here as being a Target item).
My player looks identical to the one in the picture, and it is working fine thus far. It is a hot pink color, and it comes with headphones, an adapter for regular plugs, a car adapter, a rechargeable battery, and audio/video cables. It did not come with a carrying case. I am enjoying this player so far. Good stuff: 1) headphones actually have decent sound and are comfortable around-the-neck style; 2) regular adapter does indeed have a decent length cord. My player is hooked up to my computer desk, which is near my bed, and the cord allows me to have the player halfway across my queen bed, which is perfect viewing distance for me; 3) the swivel screen is lovely, and you can even flip it so that it's flat and facing up (if that makes any sense to you; what I mean is that the player can be turned into a "play tablet," of sorts); 4) the battery is easy to attach to the player, and it can be stored apart, cutting down on the weight of the player (good thing, as carrying around some horribly heavy dvd player isn't on my list of fun things I gotta do); and 5) the picture quality is good. Minuses: 1) Isn't supposed to play dvd +/- rw disks, according to the booklet that explains its capabilities; and 2) sure could use slightly less flimsy-feeling plastic in the body of the player (but then, it'd be heavier, so I guess it's not the worst trade-off you could make). So far--two thumbs up!

bought at walmart for daughter. does NOT come with battery. which sortof peeved me. but it does come with home & car charger both with decently long cords. in the car or at home kids can just plug it in & play. daughter loves it because [1]it is pink [2]she can watch her movie again when we want to watch our movie... like on a Fri nite just back from the video rental. i like it because [1]controls are simple [2]its very light so my daughter can carry it [3]she can watch her movie again while we watch our movie! why i thought about returning it for something else [1]for a unit WITH a battery [2]something compatible with her plug & play games [pet shop, barbie & mickey mouse] [3]the case is way too snug & poorly designed if attached to seat back as one reviewer wrote you'd need to detach everything & pull out player to insert another movie which mommy cant do when driving! but i did not return it because [1]its cheap [2]when daughter outgrows pink i wont be upset like i wasted money [3]for features particularly the swivel screen, sound & picture quality, plus price its a pretty good deal. [4]since daughter still loves loves loves pink, compared to other pink models its a great deal!

Battery Not Included - Cost's $50 extra!!!,

Main thing to think about with this. Most people buy a portable DVD player to be able to not plug it in.. well, this is a good price until you see that it does not come with a rechargable battery. Those cost extra.. So, make sure you know that before you buy!

No battery, cheap headphones,
This review is from: 7" Polaroid DPA-07046P Widescreen Portable DVD Player - Pink (Electronics)
No battery included, and manual doesn't even tell you which battery it needs. Have spent way too much time trying to find a stupid battery. And the headphones are junky. DVD player is cute and works, but there are far better options available.

I bought this item from OUTLET. And this item did not come with a battery!!! I had to then purchase a battery from Polaroid for an extra $40.00. I would of been better off going and buying a brand new one at a local store! No where does it say it doesn't come witha battery. The person at the store OUTLET said she would help me find a battery but I have yet to hear anything! I will never buy anything from there store again!Polaroid 7" Swivel Portable DVD Player - Pink (DPA-07046P)

Stopped working in less than a year of minimal use,

We bought one of these on a road trip and used it for maybe 20 hours at most in the car. We even took it out of the car when we left to keep it from getting too hot. Once we got home it was used only occasionally as a DVD player for our bedroom TV. It was not moved or exposed to less than ideal conditions (as it would have been in a car). It really was treated like a baby, but it just stopped working after only 10 months. Warranty in the US is only 90 days so it's a total loss. I would recommend trying another brand.

this is a nice, but cheap player anyone can afford..we use it for our traveling and for looking at our pics we took with our Canon Rebel XTI 400D. very light weight. yes..rumors are true it comes with no battery ...but if you can get it at a sweet price then call polaroid like i did and get the battery for $32.00 shipped and everything straight from the manufacture. you can find their number on their site...it's easy...comes in different colors and you can buy docking station to view your tv and cable..i think it's great for the price i bought it at...thanks

I have searched high and low and down below but I can not find a battery and looking at the dvd player I don't even see where it goes. When I searched polaroid and entered the model number DPA-07046P nothing came back. Can someone please post where to order the battery from not just the cost. I'm tired of plugging this thing up. Oh yeah my dvd player works great and my daughter who's 3 years old is in love with it and wants to drag it from room to room but theres one catch....... it's plugged into the wall! Please help we have a trip coming up and I know she's going to try to move it from room to room. Yeah yeah I know I shouldn't let her move it but it's hers. :-)
