4.0 out of 5 stars nice product for the money
I bought this product for cosmetic reasons mostly. I dont like how my curent non-tullip hood looks on my camera. I use it on my nikon 18-55mm lense. I love the way this looks on my camera. It does screw on only like a filter so be prepared for that. other lense hoods like this I have seen for as much as $40.00, so this is a steel for the money. I am completely happy with...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pro Digital hard lens Hood for Nikon 18-55mm
While the product description for this lens hood says it's for a Nikon 18-55, I found that at certain focal lengths, the edges of the lens hood can be seen in the viewfinder and, of course ultimately, in the photograph. Otherwise, a nice lens hood for the price and even more so considering the free shipping. I'll be buying another lens hood, however.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not suitable for Nikon 18-55mm lens., September 6, 2010

This lens hood isn't well suited to the Nikon 18-55mm lens as you'll start to see vignetting around 20mm.

I am completely happy with the product and shipping. The only thing to watch out for if anything is if you screw this on over a uv filter. At 18mm you do get a little vingetting, but this can be fixed by just removing the filter. It would be nice to be able to put filters on top of the hood but never the less I love the product.

1.0 out of 5 stars If you buy this for your kit 18-55mm you'll be disappointed!, July 17, 2011
This review is from: .. Polaroid Pro Digital Hard Lens Hood + Polaroid Pocket-pod Tabletop Tripod For The Nikon D5000, D3000 Digital SLR Cameras Which Have Any Of These (18-55mm, 55-200mm, 50mm) Nikon Lenses (Electronics)
The Nikon 18-55mm kit lens rotates as it focuses causing this hood to rotate as well. This defeats the purpose of the hood allowing flare! It also vignettes at 18mm! With these two negatives I'd have to say, what's the point of this hood for this lens?? Slap a UV filter on the lens and forget a hood. Most people like hoods because they makes the lens look cooler. Skip it and just go take pictures! :-)

This product is easy to use bgut you have to be careful about where the larger wings are as they may interfere with your shot.

2.0 out of 5 stars Worked "okay", January 19, 2011

The lense hood was not misrepresented, just a little "under represented"...this one is threaded and attaches to the lens by screwing on. This means it is slow to place on and remove. It also doesn't work well if you have a filter on the lens. I originally intended to leave this on the lens, but now will only use it if I absolutely have to. Meanwhile, I'll look for a better lens-hood.

I just received the package. Not too happy right now about it, the packaging is bad, my lens hood package, its bented and the pocket-pod tabletop tripod box is crushed open. The receipt was basically just thrown in the package as if the seller was in a rush.If you want to sell products, please make sure the packaging is clean and neat. Overall the lens hood fits perfectly..Thanks

Before I purchased this lens hood, all my pictures took under bright sunny days are lack of contrast and color saturation. After I put it on my d3000, the results are ''astounding.

The only problem I have with the seller is that even though it came with a plastic wrap, it was covered with dust, which is something deadly to a camera.
