The FDM-700A has a seven-inch color LCD screen with a 16-to-nine aspect ratio that gives you a beautiful and sharp color picture. The LCD screen swivels up to 180 degrees so you can view it easily from almost any angle in the room, and the screen folds flat for convenient storage when you are not using it. The FDM-1000A plays DVD, DVD-R/RW, and DVD+R/RW DVD discs, as well as music CDs and CD-R/RW discs. And for your digital pictures, this unit is JPEG-image compatible as well.
This Polaroid DVD player also works as a regular TV and comes with a 181-channel cable-ready television tuner. What's more, this amazing under-cabinet player has a digital AM/FM stereo tuner that comes with 20 preset stations. The two 2.5-watt built-in stereo speakers deliver crisp, clear sound anywhere and everywhere, while the automatic channel programming makes setup incredibly easy. And as if that wasn't enough, this unit includes a built-in clock with a battery backup and an alarm and sleep timer.
With variable-height mounting, the FDM-700A will fit in virtually any cabinet and comes with an extremely handy, full-function remote control with a built-in magnet that allows you to store it upright on any metal surface, such as your refrigerator door. Lasted for 5 months. The power supply in the machine failed and when I contacted Polaroid (I was amazed to get to a customer service agent in about 1 minute!) they informed me this machine only has a 3 month warranty. $110 to replace if I chose to.
Even when it was working properly it wasn't that great. The buttons on the face of the machine were slow to respond (remote was much better). The radio reception was terrible. Never able to receive any AM stations. Overall - DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!

Like most people who bought this unit it works good to great at first. I was "lucky" enough that mine went bad in less than three months but instead of dealing with Customer Support I just returned it to Sam's Club. The first thing that went wrong was the unit would not power up. After fiddling with the power adapter I got the power to work but then the screen was black. Like another reviewer mentioned you could barely see the picture but it was there. For the money I didn't expect this unit to last forever but less than three months is bad.

LCD breaks in 8 months,

I actually really enjoyed this TV up until last week. The unit started to turn off on its own and then the LCD went black. Polaroid customer service will only give a $160 out-of-warranty exchange - I paid $300 for this unit just 8 months ago. They said they were sorry, but they cannot control the manufacturing of the product. I asked what assurances they could give that the replacement unit will not have the same problem, and he could give none. I do not recommend buying this Polaroid product.
