Satisfaction
We bought a Poloroid 40" HD Widescreen LCD TV (model 4011 TLXB) in Nov 2007 and couldn't be more pleased with it. The picture is fantastic from every angle. Yesterday (11-11-2009) our neighbor who is looking for a new TV commented that this TV has the clearest and sharpest picture than any other TV she has looked at including Plasma TV's. We couldn't be more pleased...

TV Breaks, Polaroid Refuses to honor warantee
Basically it was OK for the deal I got, but 6 months after I bought it, it stopped turning on. Just flat out won't power up (stays in standby). I later found that Polaroid LCDs very often have power-related issues. My first call to Polaroid was confusing...according to the first person I talked to "Polaroid is 3 different companies" and though the website...

Basically it was OK for the deal I got, but 6 months after I bought it, it stopped turning on. Just flat out won't power up (stays in standby). I later found that Polaroid LCDs very often have power-related issues.
My first call to Polaroid was confusing...according to the first person I talked to "Polaroid is 3 different companies" and though the website gave me that number for my product, he could not help me with my TV. Once I got to the right line, I was told that I was "in luck" because the TV was still under warrantee; all I needed to do was fax my receipt in and I'd get it fixed FREE. When I called back because the fax number was bad, I was told that Polaroid no longer honors warrantees for products sold by Circuit City because they had been using liquidation companies (there is NOTHING in the warrantee that reserves them this right)..."I'm sorry, but Polaroid no long honors warrantees for products sold by Circuit City." I called again, warrantee in hand, and told them I'd like them to honor the warrantee as distributed with the set, they refused saying that the TV may not have been new, Circuit City may have sold me a used product--no reason, just suspicion..."I'm sorry, but Polaroid no long honors warrantees for products sold by Circuit City." I called again and spoke with a supervisor. Same run around, but this time they told me that my serial number showed that the TV was manufactured too long ago (again, not in the warrantee)..."I'm sorry, but Polaroid no long honors warrantees for products sold by Circuit City." BOTTOM LINE: Their products fail then the change the rules so they're not liable. DON"T BUY POLAROID

We couldn't be more pleased with the overall performance of this product
