5.0 out of 5 stars Love this camera! February 27, 2012
This is an amazing little camera, a perfect blend of new and old. You get that classic look of a polaroid camera with both the design and with the quality of prints that have that slight red tint to them. A plus however is that you can choose when and how many you print and edit before that. It also has video capabilities to boot that comes with a setting for 16:9 resolution for wide screen hdtv's. The images themselves come out clear and crisp with 14mp and you have a "decent" zoom to use. If you are expecting a dslr with multi lenses and honeycomb metering or the like you may be disapointed. However, for the average person or those you can appreciate the Polaroid camera this is a must have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Polaroid Charm Lives On - Just know what you're in for. October 11, 2012
By Molly
After a false start with a Z340 that didn't work, I finally got my hands on a working model. The camera has some really neat modes & features, and the ability to spit out instant prints (which is why I bought it). That being said, the instant prints are only OK in quality. Do your research before you drop the $2.5 hundo on this one, because if you don't know the quality of the prints you're in for you're bound to be dissapointed. That being said, you can always hook the camera up and print out better quality photos via an ink or laserjet. NOTE: I find you get better prints when you dont use the flash.

However, if you're a fan of the old polaroid cameras, and love vintage-looking photos you'll have a lot of fun with this camera. I really enjoy that I get to choose the photo that I print! With the old polaroid cameras you wind up with a lot of expensive junk prints. Not so with the Z340. The ability to add borders to your prints adds a sprinkle of photobooth-like charm. This camera is very well thought out for the amateur photographer with lots of fun modes / features / ease of use. If you're out to take fun silly photos, or capture a nice moment & you aren't a super anal photo-snob, you'll have a blast.

Dog Owners & Moms will LOVE "Kid Mode". It's been an awesome feature that I pretty much use all the time in my dog boutique. I use the camera for the souviner photo portion of my charity events. I advertise the prints as "vintage" and the customer gets to pick their photo. Everyone has a good time & Loves it!

I also enjoy that the battery is charged while it's in the camera (ac adapter plugs into side of camera). For some reason I hate seperate battery chargers. I ALWAYS Loose them.

The only other gripe I have is that there is no view finder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant product October 3, 2012

I was interested in this product when I first found out about it and am thrilled with it now that I have it. It does everything that Polaroid says it does.

There is a lot of flexibility built into this product, much more than any other Polaroid product that I can remember. For instance, I don't for a minute miss the chemicals that we had to deal with in the old cameras. The Zink papers and the printing process produce very good images and the 3X4 inch size is adequate for most things. It would be nice is there was a 4x5 inch alternative but, that built into a camera, would make a huge camera. If one needs the image larger, just pop out the card and process it in your computer. I have used the 2x3 inch PoGo printer and the images were just to small for my old eyes.

Some of the Polaroid products of late have not been of the highest quality but this one seems to be an exception to that rule. It has a good feel to it and all parts seem to be just great.

What I can't believe is that Polaroid has not promoted this camera hardly at all. I found out about it browsing the Polaroid site trying to find out about some other things. I realize that they have fallen on tough times lately but, if I were making the decisions, I would bet the company on it and push the heck out of it in the media and retail stores. In my opinion, it is that great of a product.

Good job Polaroid and Zink! Keep it up.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed. May 20, 2013

I usually don't write bad reviews about a product if I receive a defective item. This time it's different. Someone bought me this camera as a gift (via amazon) and I was so excited! You can take pictures, view them digitally (which look quite nice on the screen), and even choose which pictures to print (so you don't waste film)! Also, you can even shoot video! What's not to love?
After reading a little bit, I've heard that the print quality isn't very good. However, it is an internal printer, and it's supposed to look like an old polaroid picture.
But, I guess I wouldn't know. I received this as a gift, like I said, and fiddled with it for a couple hours before I decided to actually print a picture. I read over the directions, inserted the film shiny side up (which, if you can't tell, is lightly tinted blue; it's a little hard to tell) and I put the blue card bar code faced down, exactly like it says on the instructions. I made sure the film was inserted all the way, and tried to print a picture.
The first time, the paper jammed. No where in the instructions does it say what to do in case the paper jams. You could pull really hard and risk ruining your camera. I managed to *very* slowly and gently pull the film out and try again, this time with one piece of film and the blue card. And it seemed like it was working!
It's not exactly an instant print. It takes a little under a minute. The camera I received printed blanks. The film seemed fine after it "printed" but there was nothing on it. I tried looking online for a solution, etc, and I even tried calling polaroid (it was past business hours apparently, but they won't tell you when those are???) but I couldn't figure out why it wasn't actually printing.
Eventually, I had to send it back.
