Polaroid PDM-2727 Two Screen 7" Car DVD Player

These are easy to install, and great to keep the kids entertained. Very easy to use and can be moved from vehicle to vehicle.

I purchased 2 of the Polaroid PDM-2727 last year. One for my family and the other as a gift. The color and clarity of the 7" screen is superb. Sound quality too is very good. It keeps the kids entertained during long trips in the car. My only quams about this DVD player is that the provided cables are too short to run under the carpet, so you have to run the cables across the headrests, and there are too many buttons on the unit, which makes it difficult to push the correct button while driving. My kids are careful when they put DVDs in and out of the player, but after 6 months of almost daily use, one of the plastic hinges on the door that houses the DVD/CD broke. Short of replacing the door, there's no way to replace the hinge and without this door, the DVD won't play. Shortly after that, the player had difficulty recognizing a DVD was in the unit, and wouldn't play. It eventually stopped working altogether. I believe the ribbon cable is damaged. Anyway, it was great while it lasted and I'm now looking for either a replacement for the damaged master unit, or a new player set although I don't need the slave DVD. The slave unit serves solely as a second monitor,so it's not subject to the same wear and tear as the master which receives the DVD/CD.

We've had these for 18 months or so now, but only had used them one time on a trip until recently. We pulled them out and installed them again for another trip. They have worked great and allow each kid to eaither watch a movie, or one can watch a movie the other can play games. They were easy to install both times and have a nice travel bag included. Also headphones which was a plus !

I PURCHASED THE PRODUCT AND THE BATTERY FOR AN ADDITIONAL $40 IT STOPPED WORKING NOW POLAROID WONT COVER ME FOR EITHER PRODUCT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, THIS WAS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY EVER!!!!

Used this system on a one hour trip and it worked wonderfully. On the second trip the slave screen died and shortly after the master unit quit.
Returned it to Target for refund. Save up your money to buy a good one.

This item was purchased for my daughter as a christmas gift. We did not start using it till March. The only use our system got was in the mornings for 15 minutes while in route to daycare. In June the motor went out. I called Polaroid and they advised that it only has a 90 day warranty and they could replace it for us at near purchase price. This item was a huge disappointment not to mention a loss of money. We will never buy another polaroid product again.

We have had our DVD player for exactly one year. We used it many, many times, and then it quit. It now will not play any movies. We took it to a repair shop and they said the laser was shot. And not worth fixing. It was good while it lasted.

We bought this set to replace another portable DVD system that had served us well but finally wore out. We used it for one trip, which was about 20 hours total round trip. The clarity of the picture was really good, the sound was excellent...we thought we had made a great choice.

Unfortunately, after carefully storing the system away in it's original packaging for a few months, we took it out to use for another car trip. Not more than 20 minutes into using it for only the second time, the second screen stopped working. It just went black and that was the end of it. After attempting to figure out if we had hooked it up wrong, we finally gave up and decided to use just the one screen. About 45 minutes into the movie, the screen became very dark, too dark to see anything that was playing, though we could still hear the audio. So, it was useless to us for the entire trip. Polaroid wasn't helpful at all and we just wasted a bunch of money.

Nice idea, but the unit stopped working after the second use. Very tricky for young kids to set up. Would not recommend.

We purchased these for a 2,500 mile driving vacation a few Summers ago and they are still working perfectly! Quick set-up, versatile mounting and easy for all of my girls to operate, even the 4 year-old. Picture and sound quality are very good for the price and I am especially pleased with how well they have held up after quite a bit of use and movement between vehicles. Highly recommended!
