View family snapshots from JPEG image-encoded CDs and minimize the number of music discs you tote using MP3 encoding and playback, through which you can pack about 10 albums worth of music onto a single 700 GB recordable CD-R or rewritable CD-RW.
A further boon, and not merely for travelers but for all fans of international movies and music: you can set the player to read discs from global DVD Regions other than its default Region, Region 1 (North America). And, yes, you can hook it right up to your home theater receiver or your television using the player's composite-video output and the included audio/video interconnect for viewing domestic or import programs at home. Want to listen in Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround? Connect an optical digital-audio cable (not included) between the PDV-0750 and your compatible surround receiver and multichannel speaker system for enveloping, full-bodied surround sound.
At less than 2 pounds (without the battery), you won't have to break your back to lug the player around, either. The PDV-0750 includes ESP (electronics shock protection) to ensure uninterrupted viewing and listening, and its screen offers uncommon positioning options with its rotational design: pivot the LCD left or right and, at 180 degrees you can even tilt it back upon itself for, effectively, "closed-lid" viewing.
The rechargeable battery is good for an estimated 3 to 4 hours of use between charges and a total of about 300 charges. Built-in stereo speakers give you a choice of listening through the device itself, through headphones (not supplied), or through your home system (when connected). You can watch with a companion while you're out, too, as the player offers not just one but two .125-inch headphone jacks.
What's in the Box
DVD player, AC power adapter, DC power adapter, lithium-ion battery, remote control, remote battery, an audio/video cable (stereo analog audio/composite-video), and a user's manual

Swivel screen not durable!,
By Heather L Sheppard (Attica, MI United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Polaroid PDV-0750S 7-Inch Swivel Portable DVD Player (Electronics)
The swivel SCREEN BROKE after approx. 20 uses. It seemed very stiff to open from day one and I was worried that it would not last long-term, unfortunately it broke after only 3 months of minimal use. The case for the screen cracked at the swivel mechanism and now the screen does not stay open on its own. I can still view the screen if I hold it open or watch it through my TV, defeating the intended purpose of the "portable" player. In addition, the lid for the actual DVD does not stay shut easily, it will pop back open. Each time you press to close the lid the DVD re-starts.

DVD lid would not stay closed tight enough. DVD would restart every time the unit was touched. Couldn't watch a movie for more than a few minutes without it starting over. Too much money to have to use duct tape to hold the lid shut!

By josh thomson (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Polaroid PDV-0750S 7-Inch Swivel Portable DVD Player (Electronics)
i recently purchased this product on a trip to canada, having read that it was easy to change the region codes, i brought it home to australia and attempted to do so, but unfortunately am unable to watch any dvd's fom here. I have read the manual a thousand times and its just too vague. once you have pushed the set up button and scrolled to the far right title of "preferences" the manual says to enter the code 1369 and then simply use the up and down arrows to change the region. BUT there is nowhere to enter the 1369 in the preference section i have tried everything, can someone please tell me where i am going wrong! Other than this the product has been excellent! Thanks
