1) After making sure the outside of your lens cap is clean and dry, carefully peel off the paper covering the cap tabs adhesive
2) Firmly Press adhesive on lens cap for 5-10 seconds
3) Slip Elastic loop over lens barrel
The Polaroid cap keeper is a loop that serves as a connection between the lens cap and lens barrel.
Primarily usage of cap keeper will ensure that your lens cap will not be lost during picture taking and therefore is a low cost alternative as compared to lens cap replacement.
Further, unlike most cap keeper in the market, this cap keeper had a plastic connector which does not scratch or damaged the lens barrel or camera housing.

[Update months later]: As predicted, the original adhesive didn't stay. I ended up cutting off the stick-on button, drilled a hole through the edge of the lens cap, inserted the string, tied it off and glued the knot in place. Works like a charm now, and looks professional, instead of having this big knob stuck onto the front of the cap.
Two nice features of these cap keepers that I've noticed as I use them: 1) the all-black design, instead of the cheap aluminum staple used by other makers of similar straps, 2) the elastic band which, if I'm going to be using the camera for a long time, allows me to remove it quickly and easily and put it in my pocket, and avoid having it dangling from the camera while I work. Then I can just put it back on later.
and here is my review of the product
some pros and cons
+Material used seems durable
+the clip that holds the string and strap is made of plastic
+just attach the lens holder with the self adhesive
+strap is made of elastic material
-strap is short so you should place the strap near the lense
-I dont know but the adhesive in the holder is not that good
so from time to time it may comes off the lense cap so you
better be careful not losing your cap by applying a glue to hold.
well for the price you will get what you paid for
