Well built, not so bad even made from plastic.

I have shot with this, a tripod, a monopod, and a shoulder stock, I found this much easier to hold steady than the shoulder stock or monopod.

The tension knobs are extremely difficult to turn when fully tightened and yet they still don't hold the parts in place.

I just got this stabilizer to have in case I need something smaller than my regular shoulder rig(which has matte box, follow focus, monitor and is much heavier). This thing works great! I'm only using it with my DSLR without accessories, and I can keep the footage very stable while standing still, panning and tilting. It's also easy to rack focus without shaking the camera. There is no way I could do a better job if I were to use the Zacuto Striker($789.00), which looks and acts about the same. The Striker may handle more weight before the clamps slip, but who wants a weighted down rig like this anyway. It'll be great for the park with the kids, festivals, etc. You can't beat it for the price!

This stabilizer is great for the 50 dollars i spent on it! Uses the standard 15mm Rod system so is cross compatible with other items.

I do Video DSLR work so using this as a quick stabilizer for running around and getting quick shots without setup time (like with a monopod/tripod) works out pretty well. It can be a bit hard to balance if you don't add points of contact. I focus with my left hand on the lens, right hand on the handle, shoulder pad where it should be and with a Viewfinder i have a 4th point on my eye.

All-metal construction, even the hinges, quick release plate, everything is metal. I am honestly surprised there are not that many reviews for this thing out there.

Easily holds my Canon T2i/550D with a midrange zoom lens and videomic no problem.

Note (tested with a canon 60D, T3i, and T2i Tamron 17-50mm lens, canon 50mm 1.8 lens)

Was not sure about getting this after seeing the low price and no review. It arrived today, out of the package and balanced within 20 minutes with a Canon DSLR and a Tamron 17-50mm lens (go wide on these for smoother effect). Easy to adjust, not too easy to get the camera off of unit and plate removed, but for the money I can live with it. Balance system precise, with left to right and front to back with thumb screws that fine tune to a built in level bubble. My results were almost as good as with a Merlin Unit for a fraction of the cost, to compensate I had to place my finger lightly on the unit to keep it from slightly drifting to the right. I am sure with some practice I can get the form down.

Well built, light, and I produced broadcast and film quality clips in under 30 minutes of unboxing it, A +

While a Zacuto product, or Red Rock Micro will cost you somewhere around ten times the price of this product, the budget shooter will happily make due with this guy. It's sturdy. Made out of metal. Not too heavy. Tactile feel is one of the best. Unlimited ways to adjust lengths and angles on this thing. The chest pad is firm and tight.

Results will vary depending on how you use it. My shots are still somewhat jerky, but propping the camera against my body helps stabilize in general. My only complaints are the handle grip still swings with enough force applied to it, despite how tightly I've wound the screw. And the screw mount I attached a manfrotto quick release plate to, with a magi arm attached to that, effectively making the camera mount compatible with other plates and providing my left hand with a makeshift handle.

No denying it has limitations. Ideally you'll be shooting from shoulder height with this thing. Running, or walking with it is as good as not owning it. I can only walk very slowly while maintaining stabilization. Panning and tilting using your torso for a pivot point is limited. You can use this to get higher shots too. Using the grip (or two) you can raise it above your head. In the end its not the tool but how you use it that matters most.

I have a full rig for my 7D, but was traveling abroad doing a lot of ENG style shooting using 2 DSLR's. So I ordered two of these to make our travel easier.
I like the build quality and the weight of it for the price. I do expect the screws to wear out in a while and don't like the orange tip on the end of the Rod but other than that great item.

I bought one of these at the discounted price, the quality is okay for the price. After a day or so I had a few ideas of how I prefer to shoot in news/videojournalism situation. I wanted to piece together something with 2 staggered handles in addition to the shoulder stock piece for extra stabilization. I ended up ordering another and with the help of a hack saw created exactly what I was looking for.

Swapped out the crap handle grips for better ones at a bike store and ditched the orange endcaps for black ones ($0.40 a piece at hardware store). Generic ebay flash bracket.

For $120 ($60 x 2 from amazon) I have something much more practical than the cheapest rigs offered by JAG35, Express35 and Fancier. Not bad for the price and even have a place to QR mount my zoom.

I initially bought this product for shooting video handheld with my DSLR, and it works great for that. Much steadier shooting when I can't use a tripod (like when I am kayaking). It is so steady infact, and so much easier to track objects with as they move or fly around, that I now also use this sometimes when I am shooting stills of wildlife. It is great for tracking a bird as it passes by, or for holding the camera steady enough where I can shoot a stop or too slower in low light, without having to notch up the ISO or bust out the tripod, when I am only taking a quick photograph or two.

The build is quite solid for the price (except the handle- the rubber grip started to slip around on it almost immediately. This would be an issue, except that I've taken the handle off, since it is not one of my preferred points of contact). The quick release adapter is OK, but is rather heavier than it needs to be. I've done away with it in favor of the Zacuto gorilla plate which is a great improvement for quick on and off without having to change out quick release plates and for saving weight. (I already had one because of my Zacuto Z-finder. Most people wouldn't want to buy one just to use with the Polaroid Support, since the Gorilla Plate itself can cost more than the entire Polaroid system. However if you already have a Z-finder, then you should know that the Gorilla plate is completely compatible with this systems 15mm rods and a great improvement.)

The fact that its rods are 15mm is great, since I now also have some parts from other rigs, and I can mix and match them, as long as I don't mind some color differences.
