NICE SET
I purchased this unit about a year and a half ago. I was surprised to find that the built in DVD player did not play HD DVD. I mean, when you buy a HD set, and it says it comes with a DVD player, you would think it would play HD DVD's. This is why I give it 4 starts and not 5. I have had no problem with the set at all in the time I have had it. The picture is great. I...

I purchased this TV with the dvd player for $699.00 in 2008 I did not take out the extra warrent however 11 months after I purchased this the dvd would not work. the dvds would just sit in the slot and spin. I called the place that I bought the TV they told me they could do nothing about it call the company so for 2 months I continue to call about what to do with the tv I was told nothing could be done unless I wanted to send the tv back to with, I said fine how do I go about doing that and not costing me a fortune, well that was my problem to get it to them. So decided to forget it not worth the headache. So today the TV is about 2 1/2 years old and the picture just completed goes black on the screen. Again I call customer service and they tell me it sounds like the invertor board, but the problem with the polaroid tv's are they do not have polaroid parts and they are not responsible for the parts. I was told to take it to a tv repair shop and have them call the customer service number once they figure out for sure what is wrong with it and then they will be give them code numbers so the tv repair people can order the correct parts for this TV. What the *&* we do not even have a TV repair place around here and what a way to stand behind your product by telling your customer you have non polaroid parts in your TV and they is why they don't work??? Told the gentlemen I was very disappointed in the brand and service that I personally will never by polaroid again and have told my friends and relatives for the poor quality and service received from this company.

I think they should let you know in the advertisements, that the DVD player is a standard one. They never said it was a HD player, but then again, they never said it was not. As I have a Blu Ray player, I never use the unit on the TV. One other thing, while the sound from the TV is not like any good home system. I have a sound system that I use with the TV.
