I was expecting a small drying rack from all the previous reviews, but I find it to be quite large. It was larger than my previous standard white plastic drying rack. However, the bars are more spaced out. I don't mind because I usually use 2 bars to dry things on the standard racks, and I can do with one bar here because they have a much larger diameter, so the two hanging sides stay separated. However, you can definitely fit more small stuff (underwear/bras) on the standard racks.
2) stainless steel = no rust = great for storing outside
If you dry your clothes inside, it's probably not the right rack for you. This is great for storing outside. We don't have much space inside, so we like to leave the rack on the patio. Helps that our climate allows us to dry clothes outside year round. Unfortunately, even in nice climate, most drying racks will rust and leave permanent stains on your clothes. On my old plastic covered standard one, the plastic cracked and the iron underneath rusted. This stainless steel one has been stored at the same spot for ~6 months and is still looking brand new. Love it!
Having purchased a great one in Canada here is what you should look for in a drying rack - 1. supports that lock into place, and 2. drying lines that run lengthwise down the wings, which allows for much larger drying area.
I didn't look closely enough at these features before I purchased this one. When I went back onto Amazon to see if there were others, they all had similar small drying lines that ran the width of the rack, not the length, and of course its difficult to tell if the supports lock into place.
I will keep this one, as I took the packaging off, but if I ever find one that fits the above criteria, this ones going in the garage sale!
However, its so badly built that it broke after 15 days of light use. We were only drying
our 1 month old's clothes.
