Product Description

Product Description

If your domestic partner doesn't perceive the value of dangling pantyhose as a decorative feature in your bathroom you will find this free standing rack to be of great use. Also good for antique linens, cashmere sweaters and other items that might not survive machine drying.

Amazon.com

Lightweight and easy to store, this freestanding dryer rack unfolds as easily as an umbrella--and it provides the drying space of a single 29-foot-long line. It's reasonably stable, measures 36 inches long by 21 inches wide by 32 inches high, and folds flat just as easily as it opens. Like the frame, the lines are actually made of thin, coated metal, so they're plenty strong enough to hold a heavy, wet sweater. --Richard Farr

Customer Reviews

It folds up and stores very easily.

This freestanding dryer looks good in the picture, but it is extremely poorly made. I have used it for only five days, and it is already coming apart in one place. It's only a matter of time before it collapses completely. I am returning it. Please don't waste your money on this item.

This dryer lives up to it's description. It has enough room for a basic load of laundry and is sturdy enough inside my laundry room. I do set my dryers outside in the summer, but now it is too cold, so that portion of the review will have to wait. I would guess that the dryer would blow over on moderately windy days, but I can steady it with some weight on the floor bars.
It is worth what I paid for it. Would purchase again.

What a great product! One of those things that you can't beleieve how much you needed it--ubtil you have one! I have 3 girls under three and hang to dry alot of their clothes to make them last. This is so compact and handy to use. It also folds up to take up virtually no room at all when out of use

I don't get the first review, this dryer is sturdy enough to hold a medium size of laundry. Easy to move around or store. Been using it for more than half a year and it already pays out compared to an electrical- or gas dryer.

Absolute bargain. Highly recommended.

I used this exact model for drying my clothes when I spent a summer in Germany. Then, it was more of a necessity that a "green-choice" because the dryers in my apartment weren't very efficient. I was able to use this rack with great success, and I am considering to get one for my home here in the states (as a green-choice) to dry my clothes when the temperature is reasonable outside. I always located the rack indoors (didn't have to worry about it getting blown over, or the clothes being stolen) near an open window.

This holds a medium load of clothes, a big one if you put some hangers on the sides. My clothes dry in a couple of hours outside, when inside I hang them in the morning and when I get back from work, they're already dry. I've used it constantly for over a year and it has held up really well. If you don't have much space and don't do really big loads, this is for you; If you're lucky enough to be able to hang clothes outside, I would recommend the Household Essentials 3-Arm Portable Umbrella-Style Clothes Dryer that you can bring inside when done.

I purchased this item many years ago and loved it. It was sturdy, could hold lots of clothes, and folded flat for easy storage. Unfortunately someone stole it from my shared laundry room so I went to the store to replace it. The new model was awful in comparison. The hanging bars were flimsy and overall quality was lacking. It didn't seem like it could hold any wet clothes. The manufacturing difference may explain the mixed reviews for the product. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a drying rack as good as my original. Curses to whomever stole it!

My model was purchased from The Container Store and is the gray metal one. The only "flimsy" part I've noted is that, yes, one of the metal pieces that sticks in at the end on the top pops up some times when you fold and unfold it. You just push it in if it pops out. If it really bothers you, it could be gorilla glued in place, I would bet. The bars do gently bend under the weight of the clothes and spring back into place. It's a great height off the ground for drying pants or spreading out a couple of shirts or towels to dry. Mesh dryers are nicer for tops because they don't leave lines - but this rack is just more convenient for me and can be placed in the tub too. It stores away neatly - I hide mine behind a curtain.
